To be feeling really demotivated at the moment?

Is anyone else feeling really lethargic and demotivated at the moment? Usually by this time I’ll have nearly finished the kids Christmas shopping at least and have a few decs up, we’ve started painting and are going to get a new carpet once that’s done so I haven’t bothered with the tree or decs and I’ve bought nothing yet for the kids. I’m sleeping in later and later (in fairness I’m struggling to get to sleep on a night) and during the day I just feel so grotty and don’t want to move.

I don’t think nor feel depressed, I do feel as though the weather and dark nights have hit me worse this year?

is it just me?

I feel shit atm too OP, so you're not alone!

For me, the light dwindling definitely makes a difference to my general outlook, as does the weather.

However, in my case I'm aware I'm not helping myself. I'm very overweight and struggling to get my act together. Recent financial stresses have not helped, either (car woes) - neither has being generally overwhelmed with work (self employed, can never afford to take time off, plus loads of academic/emotional support for late teen kids = feeling like an exhausted hamster on a wheel I can't get off). I'm also perimenopausal and sleeping poorly, not helped by living with a snorer. But I have done a fair bit towards Christmas, which I'm glad about!

So I'm no help, but here are some flowers! 💐

Same. And I feel demotivated in my job, which is unusual for me.

Side note. I dont sleep in the same room as my dh for this very reason. Sleep is too important especially now in our 40s.

Totally agree with every word each of you have said. Could have written the exact same.
Also perimenopausal, anxious and paranoid!

Yep, I’ve been ill for 6 weeks on the trot with a hideous resp infection so haven’t done anything/missed events and work/uni so feel rubbish. Finally got antibiotics this week (after doctor saying it’s viral twice) and it’s clearing at last.

Same. Menopausal and still recovering from a chest infection. Feel rubbish and permanently knackered.
