Ours is down to twice a week ( then we get quite a bit) - parcels can come anytime

OP posts:
Talltreesbythelake · 17/11/2025 08:48

Same, we get a bundle of mail a few times, or maybe once a week.

x2boys · 17/11/2025 08:49

Not very often.

shellyleppard · 17/11/2025 08:50

Same as the op..... nothing all week then loads come through. Its getting ridiculous

Sahara123 · 17/11/2025 08:51

Nearly every day !

Harrriet · 17/11/2025 08:56

Everyday except Sundays and Tuesdays

butterycroissants · 17/11/2025 08:56

Everyday except Sundays.

I rarely get any post (opt for digital where possible), maybe once every couple of weeks. No idea how often RM deliver as there wouldn’t be anything for me anyway.

VickyEadieofThigh · 17/11/2025 09:10

Almost every day.

LIZS · 17/11/2025 09:29

Three times a week

JudgeBread · 17/11/2025 09:32

Ex postie here. A large number of DO's across the country are absolutely fucked for staff, and managers push staff to prioritise parcels over mail because their bonus kpos are based on parcel success not mail. So if your mail is infrequent, your DO is one of the ones that's knackered and your mail is probably sitting in the frame for 2-3 days before it goes out.

If you're waiting for something urgent you can go to the DO with ID to collect it. Otherwise it is what it is.

Dacatspjs · 17/11/2025 09:36

Same as others, nothing for a few days and then a flurry. I don't really care if they don't want to do deliveries every day, but they need to openly acknowledge that and stop selling "classes" of stamps implying some stuff will aim to be delivered next working day when that isn't the case at all. They also need to acknowledge it so time sensitive post like bills can be accounted for- I've had stuff arrived before with 14 days from date of letter as a deadline and it's taken 10 days from that date!!!

Politicians247UnderwearExtinguishingService · 17/11/2025 09:48

We tend to get deliveries on Tuesdays and Saturdays. As PP said, much less stuff comes by mail nowadays, so you wouldn't necessarily get post every day anyway; but we definitely get a flurry on those two days and then no mail on other days.

I agree that RM should be honest about what service is on offer now, and stop claiming that next day delivery is the norm/likely. Surely it would be very straightforward for Amazon to use their current infrastructure and move into mail, offering a public collection/delivery service - then RM would be toast in a couple of months.

MrsClatterbuck · 17/11/2025 09:58

We get our mail by post van. I see them here in our small cul de sac once a day.

Sartre · 17/11/2025 10:00

I don’t think letters are prioritised anymore because they don’t make money from them, I’m sure I read that in an article ages ago. I get a bundle a couple of times a week. Not complaining because I barely get letters anyway, everything is online.

Sturmundcalm · 17/11/2025 10:02

we're back to regular mail (we've even had a few deliveries recently where all there's been is the circular stuff with nothing addressed to us specifically) but we had a spell earlier in the year when we were down to once a week.

gato21 · 17/11/2025 10:07

If we are lucky we get a postal drop once a week. However we have gone 3 or 4 weeks without post. During that time our sorting office asks residents not to turn up to collect as it takes too long for them to hand it out! This is an ongoing issue for about 2 years, we keep raising complaints only to be told "it's going to get better".

TheFlis · 17/11/2025 10:10

We don’t receive much post as we are paperless for most things but I see the poster around nearly every day.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 17/11/2025 10:15

Rarely! I know that the postie is on our lane every day, but apart from a monthly magazine subscription, I just seem to get repetitive letters addressed to 'THE HOUSEHOLDER' that go on about government grants to improve the house's EPC rating... but you are only eligible if you are in receipt of benefits of some description. This is very unlikely around here, because we all work for the nearby company!

I have tried to opt out of all junk mail, but that sometimes slips through, especially when it comes to political campaigns.

RosieBurdock · 17/11/2025 10:28

About once a week. I get a postal vote and received it the day before it was due and after the last post of the day (9am 🙄)

LeavesTrees · 17/11/2025 10:31

Very rarely. I remember a time when we had post every day, but now it’s so infrequent. I think we’ve had post twice this month.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 17/11/2025 10:33

Monday Wednesday and Friday and then 24 hour deliveries on top. The post we do get is mostly crap as switched to mainly online bills statements etc.

HelpMeGetThrough · 17/11/2025 10:37

About twice a week. The Sorting Office here are short staffed. Parcels are coming and the posties are run off their feet. They are working seven days a week.

We had a new post lady last week deliver, not sure how long she’ll be around. We’ve had several new people come, you see them for a couple of weeks and then they are gone.

cinquanta · 17/11/2025 10:39

Most days except Sundays and rarely Mondays.
