Crazy while i was driving

My DP and i have had an argument. Went to his friends 60th, i was driving. After 6 pints he wanted to leave at 9pm. He moaned incessantly about my speed and being in the wrong lane etc. Then in the dark when i was doing 55 mph a dance song came on the radio and he was waving his arms in front of me, grabbing the back of my head, put hid hand over my eyes. I went mad, swore at him. He reckons i am boring and over reacted but i felt scared, trapped, powerless. I could have crashed. AiBU for going mad?

He could have killed you both, or someone else. I couldn't stay with a man like that.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 15/11/2025 23:12

That would be a deal breaker for me. I would never drive with him in the car again after he had had a drink.

Was he drunk?

What a cunt. Luckily only a DP. So long!

YorkshireGoldDrinker · 15/11/2025 23:16

The man can't handle his liquor and could have killed you both. Mad? I think white hot furious is more appropriate.

I would have pulled over, and parked if it was safe ( from other traffic to do so )
then I would have given him the choice to either behave himself and let me drive or he could get out the car.

Was the song Murder on the dancefloor? because your husband could've killed someone

Thistlesg · 15/11/2025 23:36

Wtf he’d be gone. What an arsehole

FreyjaOfTheNorth · 15/11/2025 23:37

That’s not a partner. Get rid.
