DH noticed this just now on the sole of his foot. Freaking out. Image search brings up melanoma, obviously. GP on Monday - any thoughts reassurance in the meantime would be GREATLY appreciated. Sorry it is so so foul.

Could it be a blood blister? My DC got one on holiday after walking around in bare feet (much smaller than this but in similar area of foot). GP wasn't sure whether it was a mole or blood blister, but it fell off after a few weeks. Obviously still recommend you seek medical advice!

Kendodd · 15/11/2025 11:12

Isn't melanoma extremely rare on soles of feet because they don't see the sun?

KimberleyClark · 15/11/2025 11:19

Could it be a very big verruca/plantar wart?

PassTheAfterEights · 15/11/2025 15:29

must start by saying thank you and then i am HUGELY sorry this is still visible, i tried to delete it and appeared to have been successful because the images were still in review by MN at that time, but that seems to have failed. I sent him to soak it in salt water and it turned out to be white-tac that he stepped in while putting the dog out for a morning wee. It took me an hour to recover my nerves and feel additionally mortified to have now wasted other people’s bandwidth. Thank you for very kind responses!

Hah! Honestly OP that's quite funny Grin Much better answer than melanoma!

CosySeason · 15/11/2025 15:31

What the hell 🤣 A sign for him to look after those dry feet

shellyleppard · 15/11/2025 15:31

@PassTheAfterEights you haven't wasted anyone's time. I too would have panicked at the thought of something wrong x

ResusciAnnie · 15/11/2025 15:33

Hahahahahaaaa 😂 what a relief OP!

Priceless 🤣🤣

AnneShirleyBlythe · 15/11/2025 15:34

Imagine he’d gone to gp with something stuck to his foot 😂😂😂

fairislecable · 15/11/2025 15:38

That is brilliant!

But a salutary warning, I was referred under the 2 week wait to dermatology for a minor mark on my face (mole), they made me strip off and checked me all over.

I had to remove my socks and they checked the soles of my feet, when I commented on this they said, melanoma is possible there and often missed as no one checks their feet.

No wrong - you can get melanoma anywhere on your body.

MarxistMags · 15/11/2025 15:49

Ha, ha ha 😂😂😂 good one!

Whereismyfleeceblanket · 15/11/2025 17:45

On an episode of The Yorkshire Vet an elderly lady had taken her small fluff ball ddog in with a suspicious lump.
Turned out to be a sticky mint stuck right in it's fur!

Nofireplace · 15/11/2025 17:47

That made me giggle 😂

Best outcome ever 😄

BeetlejuiceBeetlejuice · 15/11/2025 17:49

How old is your DH? His feet look extremely dry and in need of some TLC.

FigurativelyDying · 15/11/2025 21:14

I once saw a medical programme where someone took to the doctor a round red lump he had pooed out. It was a blackcurrant

PassTheAfterEights · 15/11/2025 21:38

Very grateful to all who have seen the funny side and noted on both improved melanoma awareness and solidarity with the requirement for some improved skincare - I have tried..! Yes a very good outcome. Marriage, eh 🙄🥴

A tic tac. That is quite funny op. Bet you wanted to bop him one

Tigerbalmshark · 15/11/2025 21:44

Bless you and your DH OP - reminds me of a thread which is hopefully in classics in which an older poster managed to over-do the cocodamol at home after some surgery, and in her stupor she discovered a baby hedgehog sitting on her sofa, that needed her to nurse it back to health over the course of the night.

She woke up in the morning and discovered it was a cushion tassel.

Aaw bless you. I'm so sorry, but that made me laugh, a much needed chuckle at the moment. Thank you!

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 15/11/2025 22:13

I almost woke DH up laughing out loud, I’m so pleased!

I once took a HUGE worm that came out of my bum to our GP
He examined it and then got a colleague in for a 2nd opinion - they both agreed it was a beansprout

Glad your DH is ok OP

Blogswife · 15/11/2025 22:42

This is so funny and just shows how pointless Dr Google is . Glad it’s nothing serious Smile
