Is this the start of teenage behaviour?

11 year old daughter is a hormonal mess atm.

Nobody can ask her to do anything currently without her bursting into tears and slamming up to her bedroom. I’ve literally just asked her to clean her finger nails as they’re really dirty and she’s now stomping around her room wailing and slamming things around. I was a particularly moody teenager but don’t remember it starting this early!

Maybe she’s about to start her periods ?

It probably is the start of teenage behaviour, but I would just check nothing else is going on. Could she be upset about anything at school?

I have a 12 year old. Similar responses to the most basic requests.

Yes definitely started age 10/11 in my DDs. My eldest is 14.5 now and pretty much out of the hormonal teenage behaviour stage. I would check there’s nothing going on at school though, other girls the same age all hormonal can make friendship politics an absolute nightmare
