Elf arrival ideas? 🎄

It’s almost that time 😂

I started it a couple of years ago and am committed to it now…whether I like it or not 🤣
I have those little delivery boxes with balloons in and they’ll go in there, but where to put them for Dd to find?
What are you doing with yours?

I’d tie it to a stake and burn it. Honestly - elf crap is much more for the parent in charge to show off how creative they are than for the kids. Most kids are genuinely happy with an advent calendar that means they get to have a chocolate before school.

Just bin it. It’s a waste of time, trust me!

Okiedokie123 · 13/11/2025 00:12

The elf is nasty. Another thing that’s been added to parenting and Christmas that some now feel obliged to go along with. Another lie that years later (assuming your kids believe it) that you will have to unpick and convince your children that yes it’s wrong to lie but it’s fine for adults to lie about the guy in the red suit and the elf.

TL:DR what @MiserableMrsMopp and @hulahooper2 said!

Christ, everyone needs to calm down, it's just a stuffed toy.

OP, I don't overthink the arrival personally. He appears with the advent calendars and a note for the kids.

We do the Scandinavian elf as its our family's heritage. No stuffed toy. Most young families have an elf in December in our native country.
He will arrive late November starting with a few moving boxes (doll house size) in front of his elf door. He will make a mess around the house so the kid notice his arrival.
We love our elf traditions.
