To wear a black dress to a wedding?

I bought this black dress and absolutely love it, I want to wear it to a wedding after Xmas. Is black ok for a wedding guest? I've definitely seen others in all black at weddings recently. I'd like a cover up or shawl to brighten it, any ideas ? Not sure what will work.

That's a lovely dress. Black is fine imo.

I always wear black to weddings (but having said that, I always wear black every day!). That's a lovely dress for a winter wedding.

It’s a gorgeous dress. I wouldn’t wear black normally to a wedding but a winter one with a shawl I think you’d be fine. And you presumably know the bride and whether she’d have any issue so…
