To be sick of a manager who’s just performing leadership?

I’m talking about the type of manager who loves buzzwords, performative check-ins and acting like they’re leading with “vision” but in reality, they avoid real decisions, shift blame and don’t actually support the team. Everything’s about how they look as a leader, not how they act as one. They micromanage the wrong things, disappear when it matters and then resurface with a LinkedIn post about “empowering others.”

AIBU to think that leadership shouldn’t be a performance?

Quickly move on. You hear type of leaders are toxic.

Yep got of those, he defends the strategy that is complete blue sky thinking, never makes a decision, throws us at the wolves to cover up his mistakes.

You could have fun with it by using their buzz words back at them. Get copilot to compose some responses about your performance in corporate speak and watch your managers confusion.
Seriously though, some people just aren’t very good leaders. If you’re good at your job, I would just try to upward manage as much as you can and move on as quickly as possible.
