AIBU????...Actually I don't think I am concidering I had to wake up a very drunk DH on the bathroom floor at 3am this morning

We've got teh school fayre today, 12-3 pm and then straight onto a BBQ at BIL and SIL house.
When Dh finally gets his slumbering hungover body off the sofa I shall TELL him if a single drop if achohol passes his lips today I will leave all 4 boys with him(preventing him to drink another drop), take his credit card and hit teh shops. Really HIT them hard too.

Thats not being unreasonable, is it??

He#s going to feel like shite all day and if he thinks he's going to get away lightly with it he's wrong.

Similar situation here - DH woke me up when he was going to bed (spare room thankfully!) at 5AM!!! He was out at is boss's retirement do.

So I have to take DS to football which is fine really. DH has an office golf day today which he says he needs to be at - he doesn't play but should be there to meet clients. Plan was he took DS on his own and I have a manicure and pedicure booked and then have to go shopping for class present for a boy in DS's class for tomorrow. And we are going to a party tonight.

So he can sodding well forget the golf - I am not driving all they way out there and he will still be over the limit. But I will still have to cancel my mani/pedi as it is directly after football and plan was he met me there and took DS off to the golf.

How many sodding hours do you need to be out drinking????

Oh - and he obv raided the fridge when he came in and he dropped cheese all over the floor!

ooh I like it when my dh makes a twit of himself, it gives me loads of ammunition and excuses
He may not feel like drinking today of course, so maybe you just need to hit the shops anyway

if it's not a regular occurece I'd give him a break tbh
why don't you do the school fayre and he stays home and recovers and then when you get back he goes to the BBQ and you go shopping/rest/Mumsnet...

The number of times I've woken him up, crashed out on teh landing/bathroom/wrapped around the toilet over the years...you'd think he learnt his lesson!
He hasn't done it in years so although last night was prob a one off I have no sympathy for him at all

He went out with hsi bruv and our neighbour(the same one we both got verrrrry drunk with last weekend, I'll be going out with his wife soon)

Baring in mind we live a little seaside town that has a higher average age then Eastbourne its quite some achievemnet to get that drunk

dh is in bed after going out last night - nowhere near as bad as mrTH though!

I have to get boys for haircut, then ds1's swimming lesson, then mums for lunch then niece's swimming party....

Wake him up NOW. Then follow the rest of your plan. YANBU at all.

you are a nicer person than me - I tend to cover him with the spare duvet and leave him to it

I'm sorry but I'm a bit when I hear on here about people's dh's getting blotto.

Yes, go out and have a few drinks and let your hair down, but make sure you are sober in the morning. I think once you have kids, especially young ones, the days of drinking yourself stupid should be a long way behind you.

I think once in a while, planned and organised with your partner, it is ok to do it once in a while.

But not if there are plans.....

I agree totally with what you are saying , especailly as I have a hubby who thinks its OK to do this !

Getting blotto , especailly on a Friday night , impacts alot on family life and is out of order in my view .

I agree BT, Both of us getting drunk last weekend was completley unplanned, dh and our neighbours arranged the night our then.
I knew they'd have a good night but didn't expect to find him on the floor like I used too....especially as there are so many plans made today.

All teh boys are up now, he's still on teh sofa.
He really will feel like death later on.

Mine doesn't often do it at the weekend - we have usually both been out and would be equally fragile but not dying.

He normally does really late ones on work nights and therefore recovers on office time which is fine be me.

I hate it today though as I had plans.

I do not bother to wake DH when in similar circumstances - he lays where he falls unless this is trying to get into bed with me and then he is moved along sharply.

I am always taken out for lunch and me and DC treated to a present when this happens so it is not altogether negative.

Just got back from nct nearly new sale.

Thought I might get flamed for being Mrs Judgey McJudgeypants.

DH rolled in at 2.30am having phoned at 8.30pm to say it woudln't be a late one.................

I am now at work and he is looking after 11mo dd for the day [evil meep cackle]

Well, my plan fell flat on its face because I felt like shit all day so when DH did have a can (or 3) of beer I couldn't be bothered to go anywhere.

He absolutley reeked of alcohol all day so looked like death warmed up.

I was pissed off with him for drinking again but didn't have the energy to row abaout it.....

Oh dear LTH.

I took DS to football and then to MacDs for lunch with some friends and then did some shopping. DH phoned just as we were on our way home. I came in and said nothing. He asked if it was too late to go to the golf. So I said well I had never really planned to go and had already had to cancel my plans and he wasn't driving DS but could go if he wanted to. He didn't.

He redeemed himself yesterday though - our basement flooded overnight and he was up about an hour before me and started the mopping up op without waking me!
