Copper IUD…. Is this normal?

I had the IUD fitted as emergency contraception on the 21st Oct.

Had sex twice during “fertile window”
Im due on my period, I was supposed to come in yesterday but all I’ve had is really light bleeding when I wipe. I have cramps and I’ve had the PMS symptoms like bloating etc but no side of the bleeding actually starting properly.

Is this normal for the first period after insertion?

Not in my experience. Periods on copper coil always heavier.

Implantation bleeding?

My periods stopped completely so I’m guessing we’re all different. I had what you describe when I was coming up for renewal of it.

I'm post IUD and my period starts off very light and heavies up around day 3 until around day 5. Pretty sure it was consistently at least fairly heavy throughout until the last day or so whilst on the coil though.
