Feeling like everything is scary and sinister after the news atm

Just went and dropped DD off for dance class, sat waiting in the car scrolling as I always do (not worth me going home and coming back) and there’s a guy in a dark jacket, hood up (in his defence it was raining) but I drove out of my parking spot and picked another one with a view of the door to where her dance class is to make sure the door was locked. It’s a keypad and they let you in but people don’t always shut it properly behind them. It was locked, and the guy walked past the door without even glancing at it.

Poor guy was probably only on his way home but with everything the way it is atm and with what happened in Southport I felt I had to make sure. It’s scary. It also occurred to me that I’m sat in the car and would have nothing to protect myself or DD with. What an utterly depressing and terrifying time 😞

The world is a very scary place. No advice other than to avoid the news. I totally understand how you feel though.

There have been so many attacks recently, you're right, it doesn't feel safe. People are tense, stressed and worried.

Having said that. the odds of becoming a victim of stranger violence are still very low.

All you can do is apply common sense. Park in well lit areas, travel in pairs or at least keep to busy areas at night. Be aware of who is around you. Always have a fully charged mobile phone on you. Make sure someone knows where you are all the time.

And keep going. Don't let the madmen, creeps and bullies spoil your day. 🙂
