To wonder what she saw in this man?

Domestic Violence and murder warning.

Firstly he had already murdered before but was out in 2013 after serving only 13 years.
Seems like he was abusive from the start and she was pregnant very quickly.
Hard to see what she saw in him. I wish women would feel satisfied sometimes with being on their own, instead of getting involved with someone like this?
Am I wrong to think this? She would still be alive if she'd stayed single?

It's so dangerous especially when you have children. Her children are now motherless.
He laughed when caught and said he was going back to prison where he belonged.

How can we stop this from happening or can't we? Sorry its awful but it been on my mind.

RIP.😪

Your post is very victim blamey!

There is a whole myriad of reasons women end up with men like this, and it's much more complicated than the very simplistic view you hold.

Chess101 · 03/11/2025 17:31

Sadly not all women are good mothers. Her men came before her kids and they paid the price. We are all adults and responsible for our own choices. I feel for the kids.

What are they then?
What can we do to try and stop it?

Don’t be ridiculous.

Unless I missed the part of the story where the woman had a gun to her head and was forced to get into a relationship with a convicted murderer?

Summerhillsquare · 03/11/2025 18:55

The murderer is responsible. We can tackle male violence, but we choose not to as a society.

If men weren't beating up women, they be killing eachother more or toppling governents, and we can't have that, can we?! (Sarcasm)

Netcurtainnelly · 03/11/2025 19:11

He shouldn't have even been out of prison. He'd only served 13 years for murdering a man.

He was a walking red flag. I don’t know her but I’d suspect she was troubled, perhaps with an addiction.

Some women seek out poor relationships, maybe emulating relationships she’d grown up seeing. In some cases, men turn to violence so gradually and subtly that it’s so hard to know what you’re experiencing.

In this case, she’d only been with him 16 weeks and he was already smashing glasses in her face, presumably in the presence of her children.

Im going to guess she was pretty messed up anyway. And a bad mother who made bad choices. I hope the kids find happiness and peace in life.

Raspberrymoon49 · 03/11/2025 19:22

Have said many times and no apologies for repeating, if women were killing men in the numbers men kill women there’d be a national outcry but NOBODY addresses to any significant degree male violence against women, just ignore, ignore, ignore

Dontlletmedownbruce · 03/11/2025 19:28

It takes two to be in an abusive or coercive relationship. Of course it's the abusers fault but shutting down discussion as victim blaming isn't really helpful. Potential victims are most likely a personality type and possibly go from one abusive situation to another. It would be better if there was a way of identifying this potential and helping the person to avoid the situation, but that won't be done if we don't start discussing what makes a person behave like this.

Netcurtainnelly · 03/11/2025 21:44

A previous girlfriend was pregnant by him too, and he stamped on her stomach. How do these vile men attract women in the first place and why do they get pregnant so quickly?
He obviously didnt want the children.

Probably love bombed, vulnerable, promised the earth, moon and the stars.
Reeled in
Then the true nature of the beast comes to the fore.

FlowerPowerShower · 03/11/2025 23:08

I actually made my own thread about this as I was just as confused as you, she KNEW he was a murderer they literally lied to probation because she was fully aware of this past, it was 4 months and according to neighbours they argued constantly so this isn’t some love bombing situation he smashed a glass in her face, broke her kids toys. I really don’t believe she was love bombed sounds like he was awful from the start, and there is pictures online of him her and her two year old together who he shouldn’t have even met yet!

FlowerPowerShower · 03/11/2025 23:09

Probably thought she’d be the one to change him more like.

Thanks I hadn't realised it was violence from the off.

Storyplots · 03/11/2025 23:14

I suspect she gravitated towards criminal men.

She has two kids and both the fathers are dead which is unusual considering she’s still so young. I don’t know what age the men were and how they died, but I wouldn’t be shocked if it was linked to criminal activity.

Some women like men with a criminal record for various reasons - excitement, rebellion, feeling like they’re with a bad boy that they can tame- and strangely enough, they often feel protected by being with a violent man. It’s very sad.

So yeah her two kids are not just motherless they are now orphans unfortunately.

One father committed suicide.
Agree, he sounded horrible from the start.
She told her dad he'd been in prison.
There was a massive fail here though as usual, he was continually in and out of prison.
He told his probation officer he wasnt with her though and the officer believed him.
