AIBU to intensely dislike the phrase 'lone wolf' for criminals?

We sometimes hear the phrase 'lone wolf' used to describe a criminal who acted alone, as opposed to being in a gang or terrorist cell, or in collusion with other criminals.
I think the phrase glamourises the criminal. Many men who are definitely not criminals quite like the idea of being compared to a wolf, as a charismatic, strong individual.

Just say that the criminal acted alone.

Can't say it bothers me really.

A criminal is a criminal no matter what they're called.

It's wolf-ist.... 😉

Yes - I agree. It does sound exciting and glamorous.

Solo nut-job might be better - and I’m being serious. I feel sorry for people with MH issues (my daughter is in this category) but anyone who tries to slaughter their fellow citizens is beyond the pale.
