Ok I want to do a parody duet of
‘Islands in the Stream’ but call the song
‘I don’t want to stream’
This is because I only watch the ‘traditional’ channels that we had circa 1982 - BBC1 and ITV - and I’m not AT ALL familiar with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Now TV etc. I haven’t got a smart TV (a WHAT?) - and basically just want to go back to watching things like ‘Terry and June’ and ‘Winner Takes All’.
The only other line I’ve ‘written’ for my song. (that I’ve adapted from ‘Islands In The Stream’ is
“and we rely on BBC1 and ITV - AHA…” 🎵🎶🎵
So if anyone wants to join me in this - you’re welcome - we could even share the songwriting credits .. and stand to potentially make millions!
We also have room for more than 2 of us - more than the original duetters - if we go on tour with our song we could alternate performers - to give other members of the ‘troupe’ a break!! So in other words - everyone’s welcome !
We could even dress up as Nessa and Bryn and see if Ruth Jones and Rob Brydon want to get involved in some way!!
Maybe even Dolly Parton?
If anyone says “I can’t believe you don’t stream” - well I do - I admit I DO watch YouTube and BBCiplayer .. but I’m still completely at a loss when it comes to Netflix etc so the sentiment still stands
Ive also got a CD player only in my car - no portal for an MP player
I think there might be other similar minded people on here because there’s another thread on here this morning about going back to analogue
If nothing else .. I hope I’ve slightly raised people’s spirits this Monday morning !
