Husband work full time and pays all the bills we get approx 1k UC joint including rent top up which goes into my account. i work part time approx 2 half days and as im a carer and use my salary as i wish including carers allowance. My son recieves DLA which also goes into my account spent only on her equipment and activities. From UC i use it for grocery shopping and anything else we need in the home as extra and children. Would you consider this a fair? Initially my husband wanted the UC in his account and to transfer what we need as and when but i said no as im mostly at home with my daughter and found that a bit controlling. AIBU?

You should put it all in one account, pay the bills from one central point, and allocate yourself some personal spending money.

How much does your husband have left over after paying the bills?

So you using your salary as you wish is fine, him not? Do you have a son or daughter?

he does have his own allowance from his salary but most of what i get which is about 250 goes back to groceries and kids or any days out. We have 3 children. I just wanted to see if this was fair since im mostly at home caring so cannot work full time and going to appointments or if he is right to keep the UC and i keep asking for what we need

Is the child his?
Not enough info to comment.
How much does your dh earn and what bills does he pay and what do they total?
With all the benefits and your two half days, how much do you have coming in and what do you have to cover?
£50 for groceries pw is not nearly enough.

Are you saying you get the uc towards rwnt but your dh pays the rent?

You use your salary and carers allowance to spend on what you want….. so how much money do you have to do what you want with each month? How much money does your DH each month to do what he wants with?

You are a married couple, with dc.

The only fair way is for all income to go into one pot, pensions paid for both of you, then all bills to come out. If you are lucky enough to be able to save then savings allocated, and then both adults get an equal amount of discretionary spending to do with as they wish.

he pays 500 towards rent and roughly 700 bills and 400 personal expenses

So after rent/bills, your husband has £400 for himself, you have £250 for yourself but that goes in food and kids?

or have I missed some money?

how much is coming in, how much is rent/bills, how much do you and DH have left over?
