Don't boys get enough bad press anyway?

Why can't we have ones that say 'hero', or (for the babies) 'sweetheart'.... instead we get numskull, here comes trouble and suchlike

My DS 12 has one with "Grumpy Monkey" on it. He chose it himself and loves it.

Izzybel · 06/06/2008 21:00

I'm not too keen on slogan t-shirts, but my DD does have one that says 'sweetheart' which is written in small hearts. There is a baby body suit, in Tescos, that has an arrow pointing downwards, that says "change me!" Awful!

I also hate those maternity t-shirts with the writing on the bump that say "made with love" or things like that

duomonstermum · 06/06/2008 21:00

DS (10) loves slogan t's. his fav at the moment has save the rainforest on the front, ban homework on the back the other one has how do you amuse an idiot? see back then how do you amuse an idiot? see front. he spends a lot of his pocket money on them but i do censor them. tbh he's never really picked anything offensive. he'd love the bone idol one!

duomonstermum · 06/06/2008 21:02

his nickname has always been monster so he loves anything with monster on it too despite being known as a monster, he's a sweetie!

Izzybel · 06/06/2008 21:02

Some of them can be quite cute or funny. Like there was one that I saw that said 'I'm new around here' and another that said 'I wasn't born yesterday!' (both for babies)

'Please excuse my nipple breath' pmsl! Never seen that one before!

BEAUTlFUL · 06/06/2008 21:11

Those bibs are awful. A tiny baby wearing a bib saying, "Who the FUCK Are you?"

And they're badly punctuatd!

BEAUTlFUL · 06/06/2008 21:13

And "Mummy's Milk is Yummy Milk" makes me feel squicked out.

BEAUTlFUL · 06/06/2008 21:14

I made one for DS2 today that says "You're in my light". Does anyone sort of get that? DH had never heard the expression.

theSuburbanDryad · 06/06/2008 21:15

I like the nipple breath one better than the ones with bottles on and something like, "Mine's a pint."

Flashman · 06/06/2008 21:17

BEAUTlFUL - Not like the baby will read it!! - Be a great one to put them in and send to the mother in law - she would flip!!

BEAUTlFUL · 06/06/2008 21:36

It's completely disrespectful to the baby. It's being forced to swear. The baby might have wanted more for itself than that.

This is the birthplace of Shakespeare! Is making a baby look as if it's swearing really the best we can do?

Botbot · 06/06/2008 21:39

I agree. And they've used disgusting fonts too.

BEAUTlFUL · 06/06/2008 21:42

I did like a bib I saw on eBay that said: "I only cry when ugly people hold me".

theSuburbanDryad · 06/06/2008 21:44

Beautiful...

BEAUTlFUL · 06/06/2008 21:45

Babies should not be forced to swear!

Flashman · 06/06/2008 21:49

Yes because everyone will think that the baby picked it for themself.

Hmmm but I could put Pinky in a "god for harry, England and St George" then. Actually I would prob. get more people looking down their nose at that than a Tee shirt that said C*nt!

Flashman · 06/06/2008 21:50

and there really need to be a smiley with rolling eyes!

theSuburbanDryad · 06/06/2008 21:54

Beautiful - i don't think a t-shirt for a baby with "fuck" on it is terribly nice, but i'm not sure what England being the birthplace of Shakespeare has to do with anything.

I have been guilty of buying a few things for DS that have had 'Little Dude' on and some pjs with 'Born to be a rocker' on but I made the mistake of not checking the back of one tshirt i bought and it says Born To Be Bad which completely spoilt it - i like the front of it though.

On the whole though, slogany type things are yuk and I hate that people dress their babies in stuff as if they are performing chimps or dogs just for their own amusement. It's a person for fuck's sake. Flashman would you make your pregnant partner wear a t-shirt that said 'I should have just given him a blow job'? Actually, don't answer that

Flashman · 06/06/2008 22:20

Who's else amusement should I dress a baby in???

madmuggle · 06/06/2008 22:25

If you believe a select few on here, for everyone's but your own

Flashman · 06/06/2008 22:32

Lurkin - I think my DW might find that hard to swollow!!
