Don't boys get enough bad press anyway?

Why can't we have ones that say 'hero', or (for the babies) 'sweetheart'.... instead we get numskull, here comes trouble and suchlike

My ds used to have one that said If Mummy says no I ask Granny!

No19 · 06/06/2008 16:17

Sorry flibbertyjibbet I wouldn't be keen on that I've seen them

What about Sorry Girls I Only Date Models? A valuable life lesson for our boys and girls.

posieparker · 06/06/2008 18:55

What about a tee that said "My parents think they're funny by making me wear slogan tees like Britney Spears"
"Daddy hides from the CSA"
"My mother thinks I'm an accessory"

pointydog · 06/06/2008 18:58

It can be quite a badge of honour to be known as a numbskull. Much better than a brainbox. Sadly, I don't think it's meant to be derogatory

I saw a little lad of about three wearing a t-shirt today that had a stylised pic of black outlined red devils face with the words "no rest for the devil" written underneath. He had a cheeky little grin as he trotted along next to his mum quite happily.

electricbarbarella · 06/06/2008 19:06

I did see some that i really liked when dd2 was tiny, they were a mum and baby set and said supply on the mum one and demand on the baby one, thjink that is the only ones I have ever seen that i like though.
My friend did buy dd My Mummy is a yummy mummy which I thought was cute and dd1 has one that says fairies rock.

skeletonbones · 06/06/2008 19:26

I hate slogan t-shirts in general for kids too.
I used to go to a gym tots type thing, and It seemed like every week at least one of the designer clad little darlings was wearing some kind of 'my daddy is the bestest daddy in the world' type articles, they always make me think 'bleugh' and then 'desperatley overcompensating' cos I am bitter and twisted

Flashman · 06/06/2008 19:36

How old was the kid?? I had a bart simpson t shirt when younger with underachiever on it. I thought it so cool!!

PeachyWontLieToYou · 06/06/2008 19:50

ds4 has a i have a asuperdad one- because it was on offer in Mothercare LOL

Normal harmless slogans are a matter of taste I think- ds3 had 'mummy's milk is yummy milk', and ds4 now has sweet baby; it's the negative message ones I angst about. Self fulfilling prophecies and all that.

i have to admit to liking the Pint & Half Pint ones for dad & LO, tempted but i know dh won't like it.

i think it's best to live with a default option of not liking them, then allow exceptions

xlr8 · 06/06/2008 19:58

I saw a baby wearing one that said
" all daddy wanted was a blow job"

lucyellensmum · 06/06/2008 20:03

I thought of mumsnet today when i saw a little boy wearing a t-shirt saying "this is what cute looks like" he was, very cute I think so long as it doesn't try to be pretentious or not age appropriate then whats the problem, i even think some of them are funny LEM shakes her head that people can get precious over a T Shirt!

My DD has one with small slogans saying "daddies number 1 girl!" and "daddy's girl" on it. OK so it was second hand but my DD loves to wear it because she IS a "daddy's girl"

Flashman · 06/06/2008 20:09

xlr8 - i so wanted to find that one in a baby grow- I was planning to put pinky in one of those when born - tacky I know but just for one day would be laughing - yes very sad. Does anyone know where to get one?

snowleopard · 06/06/2008 20:16

I don't mind slogans particularly, just the negative/dodgy ones. "Supply" and "Demand" is great! DS has a (Boden) one that just says "Random!" - I love that.

learningallthetime · 06/06/2008 20:24

I agree about the negative connotations but I couldn't resist buying 'daddies little princess' bleuuugghh I know!

theSuburbanDryad · 06/06/2008 20:24

ds has a "Bone Idol" one, but it's in v tiny writing on the sleeve, and i bought it cause it had a really cool skull and crossbones on it. and it was green.

And it was £1.

Weegiemum · 06/06/2008 20:32

You can get all kinds of weird and offensive slogan tees {{http://www.bibz.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65 here]]

I only know cos I hope to repay my little bro for years of bad t shirst when his baby is born !!!!!

Botbot · 06/06/2008 20:32

My db had one circa 1981, aged 8, with 'Kids are People Too!' on it. That's the only one I've ever liked. He was obviously in the vanguard of slogan-T-shirt-wearing.

Weegiemum · 06/06/2008 20:32

here

Flashman · 06/06/2008 20:36

Wegie mum - cheers totally bookmarked - I am going to get some of those - and I really don't care how looks down their nose at me - will make me laugh. Also I have found on the RFU page you can get England baby little kit sleep suits!!!!!!

madmuggle · 06/06/2008 20:46

Flashman, I think it's tshirthell.com for the funky slogan tees if you so want to buy one. Not sure that they do a babygro. There's a US site that does them, but since my PC crashed I haven't got the URL. I was going to order a 'please excuse my nipple breath' one for my son, and an 'I need a good spanking' hoodie for myself

madmuggle · 06/06/2008 20:50

I like the 'my other bib is clean' bib

Flashman · 06/06/2008 20:52

Cheers madmuggle

madmuggle · 06/06/2008 20:56

No problem. I'm not a fan of most slogans, but some make me snortle. Best I saw was on a US PC/gamer/geek store, and they had and 'input/output' babygro. Loved it!
