Someone help… posting for traffic. I have a bunch of kids wellies good brands Joules, Next etc. I can’t seem to even give them away for free (tried Facebook/local whatsapp groups etc)

Any ideas how to get rid of them? Or where to take them?

Are you trying to sell/give them as a bunch because that would put me off. I’d only want one pair.

Luxio · 31/10/2025 07:55

Do your children's schools do OPAL or forest school? All the schools around here would be very appreciative of a bag of spare wellies.

Radiator981 · 31/10/2025 08:06

Not trying to sell them or give them away as a bunch I’m happy for people to take individual ones. I’ve said does anyone want any of these and listed them and their brands.

school won’t want them for forest school I get the impression they’re well supplied! Such lovely wellies too and I don’t want them to end up in a landfill.

Have you asked? If not surely a charity shop will take them, no need to end up in landfill at all.

Radiator981 · 31/10/2025 08:08

Oh you think charity shops will take them? Ok then I’ll give them a scrub

Of course they would take them especially if they are in good condition.

Charity shop is the obvious answer!

Nursery school or preschool?

surely school would take them?

I've always found wellies and walking boots go really well on Vinted.

I've sold at least 3 pairs really quickly.

OutingHobbyWife · 31/10/2025 08:15

Have a google for clothing exchange/clothes bank in your area. We have one locally that's run by the church.

Brightbluesomething · 31/10/2025 09:47

Charity shop or EBay. I’ve bought child’s wellies from both and got some lovely ones so I know there’s demand.

TheCurious0range · 31/10/2025 09:49

Charity shop or our local uniform bank take them

Radiator981 · 31/10/2025 10:18

They’re heavy I thought to sell? Yes all in great condition. A friend who is friends with Dep Head of school has said school don’t need any.

I might sell the Next and Joules pair then on Vinted.

Local private nurseries?
Contact the local council, they have bundles of clothing for people in crisis (house fires/floods/homelessness)

Farm attractions and open farms near you. Contact charities like LEAF, Outdoor classroom for farms in your area that open for educational and enrichment visits. A lot of them try to build welly banks as most funded visits are with groups from areas of high deprivation (some of whom won’t always have wellies. It’s a particular problem for summer visits as even families who own winter wellies find feet have grown since winter.

Dacatspjs · 01/11/2025 11:38

Riding school or kiddies farm? I went to a national trust recently that had a load by the door for visitors who got caught out.

Littlefish · 01/11/2025 12:50

Contact the school/nursery in your most deprived area - I’d be surprised if they didn’t want them.
