Watching DaisyMay & Charlie Cooper night watch. Could you do that?

Just on the first one. They are staying at the old Gloucester prison.

I think I could do it without much bother. Really don’t think I would put too much thought into it and wouldn’t be scared.

What do you think? Could you? Have you ever stayed anywhere as a sceptic and come away convinced or without explanation of an occurrence?

Yes, I could do it. Especially if I was paid for it. And had a TV crew with me.

Floweryfrock23 · 30/10/2025 15:31

🤣 of course!

I meant if you got the opportunity WITHOUT pay and camera crew!

Noooo. I don't believe in ghosts, and my rational brain would tell me I'm fine, but I would definitely get the Heebie Jeebies!

DoAWheelie · 30/10/2025 15:34

I'd go and spend the whole night listening to scary stories on YouTube. I love wrapping myself up in blankets on a cold night and getting myself all spooked out.

WhyOhWhyEightyTwo · 30/10/2025 15:36

I binged this last week, she’s so funny. I would love to do something similar, I’m not sure what I believe but I’d find it fun.

No. The spirit world shouldn’t be messed with. It’s entertaining until it isn’t.

"The opportunity" to spend the night in an old, empty building?

Er, no thanks.

Yeah, jumped the shark around the end of Ghostbusters 2.

The Gloucester Prison episode was the one stay of the series that I wouldn't do. Not so much because of spookiness but it was such a miserable building. All the people over the centuries who had been crowded into that grim old place, some for years or until death. Grim.

Loved the series and thought the relationship between Charlie and Daisy May was wonderful.

Yes. Last Halloween I slept in a 4 poster bed in a room that had featured in Most Haunted. I wasn’t alone in the building but I was the only one in the wing, there was a Great Hall and two staircases between me and anyone else.

I knew it wasn’t haunted though because the year before we had done a ghost hunt with proper ghost hunting gadgets and not found anything 😂

Oxo01 · 30/10/2025 16:56

Yes would love the experiance but I would want to take a quilt and things to keep me warm like she did lol

I think I could now, not when I was younger but I'm middle aged now and been through worse than hearing ghosties.

I've watched them all now and it's a great watch. Funny and very touching at times with some interesting facts and no Most Haunted bullshit.

I'm from York and have (mis)spent a lot of time in the Golden Fleece but never felt or seen anything. York feels so warm to me.

The bothy would be the scariest- more because you are stuck if you get ill, have an accident or do see something you need to get away from! And there's strangers coming in and out. I'm not over Luibeilt from the Uncanny podcast!

I did the Edinburgh vaults tour and didn't feel anything there either. There's supposed to be a little boy down there who wants a mummy and you put your hand out for him to hold. My boy was little at the time and I was so keen to feel something and show him some comfort, but nothing.

Looking forward to the new Uncanny series tomorrow.

No, I don't work for the BBC 😆

If Luibeilt was still standing that’s one place I wouldn’t want to stay.

Randomchat · 30/10/2025 17:56

I am so gullible and suggestible, I'd hate it. I hate any of those ghost sorts of tours. I try so hard not to be influenced by the tour guides telling the stories but I end up so scared. It's stupid. So no, I'd not do it. Even with cash and a tv credit.

ThatBlueBird · 28/01/2026 15:13

This was a great series and loved watching the prison one, was interesting to see what it was like inside the building.

BauhausOfEliott · 28/01/2026 17:23

I'd have no problem staying in any of the places they stayed in. I don't believe in ghosts but I do love anything spooky so I'd jump at the chance to stay overnight somewhere like that to be honest.

Re. Gloucester Prison, I went inside another prison of a similar age shortly after it had closed down in the late 1990s and it was certainly a chilling place to explore, particularly as the rooms where people were hanged (up until the 1950s) were still there and barely touched since they were last used. But I'd still have had no problem spending the night there.
