I've got a friend with bad posture. She stoops and walks vent. I've told her time and again to walk upright but she still stoops. Despite her stoops she has a husband so he obviously didn't.ind that her posture was bad and getting worse. My dad stooped but he was in his 89s. My friend is much younger

That's a shame

HundredMilesAnHour · 29/10/2025 12:41

Has your friend asked for your opinion or advice on her posture?

VivienneDelacroix · 29/10/2025 12:43

Imagine being this concerned about someone else's posture that you post on the internet.
Maybe you should be asking for advice for yourself about how to be better at minding your own business and being less judgemental?

ShesTheAlbatross · 29/10/2025 12:45

I’ve told her time and again to walk upright

What? You’ve told your adult friend again and again to sit up straight? And she hasn’t told you to piss off?

ButtonNoseBunny · 29/10/2025 12:46

Sometimes poor posture can be down to a confidence problem or depression. I’ve also known people with a history of SA to have poor posture as they want to physically hide away/keep themselves feeling safe. Bear in mind that you don’t know why somebody has poor posture. It could also be due to a physical issue that they can’t control.

Fuck all to do with you.

PerkyOchrePeer · 29/10/2025 12:55

My dad had poor posture and my mum nagged him and said she was e.barrasded to be seen with him stoopi g. I knew someone who stopped due to scoliosis. My friend did ask for my advice. I would not have mentioned it to her otherwise

YABU, theres no point telling her not to stoop, I’m sure she’s not doing it consciously.
If you really want to help her maybe suggest going to a Pilates class together or suchlike?

Young men are routinely having a hump now and are legit hunchbacks in their late 20s. It's like we've been taken over by the skecsis.
