Pretend to burp in your face?

Make fart noises and pretend it was their sibling?

Tease their sibling relentlessly?

Stamp their foot because they were told only fruit for a snack, no crisps?

Respond to simple requests with an overdramatic “OH MY GODDDDDD”?

Get irritated over the smallest of things?

My eight year old:

Pretend to burp in your face? No, because I'd go mad.

Make fart noises and pretend it was their sibling? Wouldn't put it past her, but it hasn't happened yet!

Tease their sibling relentlessly? Oh yes 😂

Stamp their foot because they were told only fruit for a snack, no crisps? She loves fruit but if I said no to something she wanted, yes probably

Respond to simple requests with an overdramatic “OH MY GODDDDDD”? All. The. Damn. Time. 😂

Get irritated over the smallest of things? Yes, when in that mood.

Tease their sibling relentlessly? I’d say more occasionally. They get on more often than not
Stamp their foot because they were told only fruit for a snack, no crisps? At that specifically no. At something else minor when hungry or tired yep she would
Respond to simple requests with an overdramatic “OH MY GODDDDDD”? No
Get irritated over the smallest of things? Yep. Usually when she’s hangry. Youngest is terrible at noticing she’s hungry

WhySoManySocks · 27/10/2025 20:24

All of the above.

JadziaD · 27/10/2025 20:25

My 10 year old: no. Not now and not when she was 9.

DS when he was 9: probably not.

DN who IS 9? Absolutely.

80smonster · 27/10/2025 20:52

Yep, little shit. They don’t have a sibling (#blessed), if they did they’d wind them up nonstop.

narcASD · 27/10/2025 21:10

Yes to all, but on the plus side they are immensely funny, quick witted and great company so I forgive them

ACynicalDad · 27/10/2025 21:12

Farting and sibling yes, rest no.

TardisDweller · 27/10/2025 21:18

When dd farts she blames the cat.

CharlotteFlax · 27/10/2025 21:20

All those things are potential things that any of my children may do/have done aged 9.

They would get a bollocking for doing some of them.

Ionlymakejokestodistractmyself · 27/10/2025 21:25

Yes I think he would do all of that. He's very highly strung.

PandyMoanyMum · 27/10/2025 21:29

Y

PandyMoanyMum · 27/10/2025 21:30

Legomania · 27/10/2025 21:51

My 7yo does all these things. I'm hoping he'll have stopped by 9 but perhaps not

TheWonderhorse · 27/10/2025 21:55

I have a nine year old who claims other people's farts as her own. Is that worse?

She wouldn't pretend to burp in my face but none of the others would be a massive surprise.

Peridoteage · 27/10/2025 21:56

Pretend to burp in your face? he would actually burp. Maybe not right in my face but right in front of me*
Make fart noises and pretend it was their sibling? 100%
Tease their sibling relentlessly? not relentlessly but plenty, and she'd give as good as she got (DD6)
Stamp their foot because they were told only fruit for a snack, no crisps? no but he loves fruit
Respond to simple requests with an overdramatic “OH MY GODDDDDD”? Yes
Get irritated over the smallest of things? Certain specific things yes, like his sister singing!

DS, 9 in a month or so.

whatsit84 · 27/10/2025 21:57

Probably the sibling ones yes, not the others.

MoreThanOverwhelmed · 27/10/2025 22:08

Pretend to burp in your face? 9yo - No.
7yo - Yes.

Make fart noises and pretend it was their sibling? Both - yes.

Tease their sibling relentlessly? 9yo Yes! 7yo, not so much as they are mostly on the receiving end.

Stamp their foot because they were told only fruit for a snack, no crisps? 9yo - yes! 7yo not much of a snacker.

Respond to simple requests with an overdramatic “OH MY GODDDDDD”? 9yo - Yes! 7yo - no, screams or crys instead. Fml!

Get irritated over the smallest of things? Both - yes! Not all the time but increasingly often.

They're nice kids, when it suits them. Sometimes I could happily put them in the bin!

TotHappy · 27/10/2025 22:20

Yes, my 9 yo could do all of those things depending on mood. She's 9.5. Seems to have become hormonal and a bit tweeny lately.
