I went to an interview with the Royal Mail at the end of last week. When I got there I realised the commute would be further than I first thought. During the interview, I asked the interviewer if the depots are all linked under one umbrella and told him there was another Postperson job nearer my home. I told him I would be ok to take either job if successful, but it made sense to work closer to home. He said it was fine and that he would call the other depot to explain.
On the way home, I went to the other depot and explained the situation to the manager. He said that as I've had the interview already he wouldn't have to interview me and that he would contact the depot where I had the interview and wait to see if my interview was successful. The interview details were sent off to HR.
Now I'm worried that the manager at the depot where the interview took place may not have liked the fact I hadn't fully committed to his depot and I might fail because of it. Then the depot closer to my home won't want me either.
