Thomas’s Fulham or Parsons Green Prep? (For Sept 2026)

Hi mumsnetters,

We live in Parsons Green and our daughter has been offered a place at Parsons Green Prep and Thomas’s Fulham. We are seeking a private non religious school and being co-educational is important for us as we have a younger son. She is quite a bright girl so we want her to be stimulated enough academically. I like the small nurturing feel of Parsons Green Prep and their leavers results seem great however we wonder if it gets too small as the children get older? Thomas’s is the opposite, very big school which means lots of space and excellent facilities but wonder if it’s too big and maybe impersonal/factory like? We have heard mixed reviews of both schools so I suppose everyone will have their own view but anyone with children currently in either school (as of 2025) please could you share any insights? We are so unsure about what to do and not being from London makes it harder.

my knowledge from speaking to parents at both schools is that parents are happy at both. Yes, Thomas’s is big and therefore can get some competitive parents and can feel a bit busy which might not be ideal for shy types but also there is so much for kids to do that there is something for everyone even if you’re not the sportiest, smartest, loudest etc. It also gives you a big parent community and lots of friends/social opportunities which can either be a good thing or may get exhausting!
Thomas’s felt a bit too big for a junior school for me personally and I preferred the nurturing cosy feel of parsons green prep. It also feeds into a lot of the same schools as Thomas’s so ultimately you are getting the same educational outcome it just depends on which environment you think would suit your kid most.

PGP definitely delivers more of a village feel school
where everyone knows each other and your kid would be like a part of the family and get to know everyone in their your group very closely. Again, this could be a good thing for some and for others they may find it stifling/lack of choice of other friends.

I had kids in both schools and would say definitely Thomas's

@mumofdragons11 can I ask why? I’m leaning towards Thomas’s. Viewed PGP yesterday and didn’t get the best gut feel from it and felt very small in the older years.
would love to hear a little more about your experience with Thomas’s good and bad!
