Anyone watching the Southport Inquiry?

Anyone watching these? I have just started on 30th September which are the recordings about the knife shop online sellers.

This is crazy isn’t it!?! I went on the websites and 99% of these knives are not knives one would endeavour to have for any legitimate reason IMO.

And crossbows! All of them are pushing the crossbows in ad banners at the top. What on earth is the legitimate use for a ‘tactical’ crossbow.

We need to sort this out dont we.

Hi op, I haven't only becuase i was lazy and wanted to be told where I could watch it. Ill Google it now. Thanks

I haven’t been watching but I will! (I’m a very morbidly curious person and always find inquests, trials etc. interesting, as devastating as some are).

What you are describing with the online store and promotion of these weapons sounds horrendous! Something urgently needs to be done.

At first I felt sorry for this parents. But im reading articles on crappy media that they werent switched on, warm, loving, concerned parents

They are on YouTube if you type Southport Inquiry. I have only just started but so far I have found this quite shocking. Funny enough just went on Oct 1st sessions and they are about Crossbows. AR has been trying to get weapons for years before the attack. Only just started but I am hoping someone asks what the legitimate use of crossbow is!!!

I am on 7th October sessions now. It’s the police atm.

Is no one else listening. This is completely insane and just wondering if anyone else is out there?

I have been following the inquiry on the Liverpool Echo.

I have a lot of work atm so it’s just on in background. On 20th now with CAMHS. The consultants attitude was not great tbh. Hadn’t read his file and said that was normal. Basically blamed it on the parents.

There’s a lot that can be learned from this so it’s really great they are taking time to go through everything.

I think I've seen that his parents and brother will be giving evidence to the inquiry, I didn't realise they would be, although it makes sense.

So your major takeaway from what happened in Southport is that you can buy a crossbow?

Remove every knife and every crossbow from society and it still will not stop the next Axel Rudakubana.

Allowing an unknown quantity of men like Rudakubana to live amongst us is the issue.

Randomesttnought · 04/11/2025 01:24

@GarlandaChynoweth Yes I believe tomorrow afternoon family starts. Not sure if it will be public though.

@Sparron No it is not my main takeaway. I think there’s probably nearer about 100 takeaways from this. The inquiry is not even finished and I am only half way through. I am up to the school evidence now.

Honestly I have no idea what your takeaway is. As you say most of these men are unknown. Whats your plan? Round up all men

An unknown quantity of potentially violent men? They have always lived amongst us.Confused

What do you think should be done?
