To think healing isn’t linear and that sometimes you get tired of trying so hard?

Some days I’m proud of how far I’ve come.
Other days I wonder if I’ll ever feel fully okay again.
Does anyone else feel this too?

Everyone's life experience is different.

Sometimes you need to focus on the living rather than healing if you feel youre dwelling too much on the past.

Yes I do and I understand how you are feeling. I'm worried you won't get kind answers here so please only listen to those who understand - healing is a deep process and you'll have days that are hard days and when you able to see the brightness and beauty of the world,
Both are equally valid and important parts of you that need hearing and love and compassion. It sounds like you're doing really well and I'm sending solidarity for you r journey xx

I echo what another poster said about not getting kind posts here. Unless you've been through it, you haven't a clue. healing doesn't erase the grief, but it does teach you to manage it better. I dont know what you have been through but i can tell you my own experience. My baby twins died 2 years ago this november. They were full term, my first boy was stillborn and my second little boy died in our arms 4 days later after, we had to remove life support when they was no hope or treatment.

The days since have been very dark but happiness has come back into our lives and some days, more and more dh and I can breathe again. It doesnt mean however that the grief or pain is gone. Those who say move on or you have to get on with it unlikely spend their weekends weeding their childrens grave. And if they do, fair play but grief for the majority doesnt work like that

Feeling ok is like a tidal wave, some days the wave hits you and other days you keep your head above the water. The important bit is, that you are keeping your head above more days than not. Do you get counselling, i find it really helpful.

Lastly im sorry you are feeling down, but you arent alone, remember that. Xxx

I seem to get a few steps forward then a step back and two forward and two back two forward and one back or whatever etc.

I mean it feels like it’s progressing well and then it isn’t.
Im up and down.

It’s not ideal but like weighing yourself once a week, maybe try and not count the daily up and down steps and just look at the overall progress once a week?

Of course, life just isn't linear, there are days and seasons when things move a lot, and others when they don't.

If you are aware of this that's a lot of the battle - next step is to have a plan for how to acknowledge when things are slow and to take care of yourself so when things can move, you are ready and haven't stepped backwards.
