Ive had a crap year. It’s my first birthday without long term partner and my gran who phoned everyone on their birthday.

my parents always without exception message when they wake up to say happy birthday as I do for them. They have been messaging on the family chat about random things since early but I’ve had no message. I’ve had messages from people I hardly know on Facebook.

im seeing family tonight though so am I AIBU to be expect a message earlier? Maybe it’s my expectations that are off!

in the end I messaged the group chat wishing myself happy birthday - then the messages came flooding in.
