Hi you can probs see my last post. I’ve made sure it doesn’t fall on parents evening. Now they haven’t given me ppa for the week I have my bladder surgery. Bear in mind I don’t get paid for any days off and I need the two days as Thursday is all day in hospital basically by time I get there and out - Friday for resting. Monday I’m back, but for that week they have put me as out and haven’t given me any ppa time. I plan in advance so not what I’m worried about. But I don’t have partner teacher and there’s always lots to plan and arrange and even just having those 2 hours to arrange things for the cover teacher on Thursday and Friday. Am I asking for too much. Who is wrong in this? Specially with no partner teacher - one form entry school. With them expecting ofsted next half term? Them not giving their supply teacher ppa because of important hospital appointment.

Take the time you need and don't feel obliged to do any prep for when you are away. This is the SLT's problem to sort, if your school won't assist you by giving you that prep time. As supply, you have few employment rights and no sick pay, so don't be doing unpaid work to facilitate a school who won't show you basic care when you are having an important operation!
