If you are hosting a party you cover all costs , food entertainment etc If you can’t afford that, don’t have a party !!!!

Completely agree UNLESS said party is a joint/group idea and you (or whoever) has kindly provided the venue (e.g., their house/garden)…that's different - one person should not be expected to foot the entire bill in that type of circumstance so I need more info to vote one way or the other 😉
