Blatantly here for traffic. Been so sick since last Friday. Started with slimy throat and horrible taste in my mouth intermittently on Friday. Saturday onwards a temperature every 3 hours when the drugs wore off, not mega high, over 38c. First day fever free today.the bad throat started Saturday ,all on one side, then bad head cold symptoms, tinnitus, earache, sinus pain and nausea. Continued like that until today when it's worse head cold symptoms.cough Saturday which started off dry and is now mega wet and disgusting. Can't smell a thing. No aches and pain except a little in my back on one side. Have done 2 COVID tests, one Monday one today both clear, new tests from Tesco.

I'm on about day 20 now and just started with conjunctivitis. Still got awful cough, intermittent sore throat and shivers on and off. Still also slightly nauseous . Did another covid test and it was negative. Not sure they are accurate though.

I was talking to DP about this yesterday. Two weeks ago, I’d had it for a week and it picked up pace knocking me down. I rested Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Went back to work but was slow. I’ve been useless ever since and still finding it hard to breathe and sore throat. Teeth better than they were but not better. Lost about 2kg on the toilet but that’s also stopped. Ropiest cough that ever was. I’m fed up!

TheGrimSmile · 26/10/2025 20:09

Are the covid tests negative if you test after the initial week or so? If so, this might explain why mine have all been negative.

I tested when I was at my worst with it so I don’t think that’s why. It doesn’t feel like Covid to me. Just the worst cold ever.

Cherrysoup · 26/10/2025 20:17

Last 4 days, I feel like I’m coming down with something, gloopy throat, nearly keeling over when I stand up. No idea what’s going on.

PurpleOranges · 29/10/2025 12:24

I thought I was on the mend but yesterday the vertigo started and today I’ve got conjunctivitis. I’m on day 12 and the symptoms have changed almost every day.

TheDenimPoet · 29/10/2025 13:20

It's just gone round a hobby group I'm a part of, took out almost half the group. Most of us got over it in about 10 days but several people are still really quite unwell. It's nasty. I have some covid tests in the house so I checked and it wasn't, but it actually felt worse than when I had covid. I was stuck in bed because I just didn't have the energy to tackle the stairs. That's not like me at all.

TheGrimSmile · 29/10/2025 22:04

Has anyone got tinnitus now? That's my latest symptom.

JTA1972 · 02/11/2025 05:15

Still really suffering with this, hot face sinus and ear problems, fatigue and also really constipated anyone else ?

Exemptfromcontent · 02/11/2025 05:24

Morning! I’ve just come down with a horrible snotty cold like thing, mine started with a headache for a few days, did anyone else get a horrible ache in their temple? My temple has been aching terribly for a couple days before I started getting snotty, and now my sinuses are so sore it’s making my temple pain worse.

The constipation could be due to all the paracetamol you're taking to keep your temp down? But yes, I was also constipated.

Shallysally · 02/11/2025 06:04

I’m on day 14 and fed up. Chest is sore, horrid cough and sinuses. Still feel wiped out. I’m supposed to be back at work on Monday.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 02/11/2025 06:44

My experience with Covid testing is that the window to get an accurate result is very short, usually days 3-5. Even then it's tricky as very little virus is needed to make a person ill.
I also found RSV to be s bitch. Had that January '24 after recovering from some other beast of an illness with a brutal incessant cough that I though would break my ribs. Tested neg for Covid on that one and tested twice daily for a week as soon as I was ill + tested at hospital as I was pregnant and going in for a section. 🤷‍♀️ Fun times.

Get well soon. It sounds awful. 💐🙏

SteakBakesAndHotTakes · 02/11/2025 06:45

I've got this too. Slow burn last week with general cold symptoms, tiredness and achiness, then suddenly sore throat, really excruciating forehead headache, and sweating/nausea/indigestion. And just looking pale and unwell. Now phlegmy and congested...for the past few years we've had a bad 2-week mystery virus around this time of year.

Fruitnvegaisle · 02/11/2025 10:35

Lateral flow tests for covid miss about half of infections.

Testing 4 or 5 days in and testing over several days can help.

Unfortunately a single negative lateral flow test isn't enough to rule out covid.

TryingAgainAgainAgain · 02/11/2025 21:25

That really doesn't doing like much of a mystery.

FullOfMomsense · 02/11/2025 23:12

Yeah, it's covid funnily enough. It's everywhere and pretty grim

TryingAgainAgainAgain · 03/11/2025 09:13

*sound like much of a mystery

Jesus you’ve really been in the wars with this! How are you now? I’m quite deaf and I don’t think I have had this gem. Last week I decided enough was enough and continued to the gym for cardio multiple times. It actually helped and woke me up a little but I still have the most pathetic itchy throat cough and general overtired.

Tassielassie · 05/11/2025 00:19

Yes, I still have it since late june.
A swooshing heartbeat sound, Pulsatile tinnitus.
My GP insisted on an MRI as there is a tiny chance its sinister.
It was fine, but the noise is still there.
My taste and smell are fine now thankfuly.
It was a dose.

I'm a lot better thanks. Turned a corner about 2 days ago. The only symptom left is the "blocked" ear and tinnitus.

Oh no! Really do hope you get better soon.

I’ve still got a stupid pathetic cough that makes me heave as there’s no substance to the cough. Also still snotty. I’ve been going to the gym every day and although it was really hard at first and hurt my lungs so much, it seems to have pushed it out.
