Blatantly here for traffic. Been so sick since last Friday. Started with slimy throat and horrible taste in my mouth intermittently on Friday. Saturday onwards a temperature every 3 hours when the drugs wore off, not mega high, over 38c. First day fever free today.the bad throat started Saturday ,all on one side, then bad head cold symptoms, tinnitus, earache, sinus pain and nausea. Continued like that until today when it's worse head cold symptoms.cough Saturday which started off dry and is now mega wet and disgusting. Can't smell a thing. No aches and pain except a little in my back on one side. Have done 2 COVID tests, one Monday one today both clear, new tests from Tesco.

Hi everyone. How's is everyone doing? I haven't left bed since. Feel like my face has been hit with a baseball bat and have bad vertigo. Still so much snot. Didn't sleep til 5am and haven't really caught up much today. Fever has gone thank goodness. I'm on half term this week and next so will hopefully be better for the start of term, happy holidays 😅

I had Covid and then straight after got conjunctivitis. My eyes are a mess and I’ve had it for 2 weeks and it’s still bad. Apparently there was a covid that ended in conjunctivitis someone told me? So all in all I’ve felt like shit for 3 weeks with no end in sight 😔

Partner and I are on week four. Daughter is on week two. My headache seems to have come back, I can’t get to sleep and when I do, I’m drenched and have chaotic dreams.

ObliviousCoalmine · 23/10/2025 18:18

I did read somewhere that children don’t get it as badly as adults.

abracadabra1980 · 23/10/2025 18:31

Had it last December and I’m still not right. My ears were bubbling inside but I didn’t test for Covid. GP thought it could have been Covid. I also had terrible vertigo which is now light headedness and feeling as if I’m m falling down, but I don’t fall - it’s mainly when I’m using an even and move my eyeballs. Awful. Have ended up having a blood pressure minitor on 24/7 from the hospital and am now waiting again to do it once more, under the Syncope Clinic. Have had on and off bouts of sinus pain - and the fatigue-ever since. I have to lie down every day after my lunch and coming ‘to’ in the morning simply doesn’t happen. I’m knackered nearly all the time. Blood tests haven’t revealed anything but have just been sent for another full lot of bloods to test because of my fatigue. Also I was walking the dogs last week and out of the blue, my ears started making a soft popping noise internally. Luckily I work for myself and mostly at home but it’s debilitating. There’s something awful out there-am actually feeling like I’m falling as I move my eyes to type 🙄Get well soon OP.

I'm so sorry that sounds awful 💐 It sounds like you could have long covid, it's not uncommon after a covid infection. X

You poor thing! That’s awful! Hope you’re better soon.

how’s everyone’s teeth? This is going to sound so strange but since, some of my side teeth have felt weak, more mobile and I feel something if I step heavily. I’m certain it’s related. It’s the same side tooth on top left and right and bottom left. I genuinely feel the illness has weakened the inside or what is holding my teeth in my mouth. 😭

ColinOfficeTrolley · 23/10/2025 18:48

Absolutely floored me. I was off work for a week for the first time ever.

I also had the trots for a couple of days.

MrsLizzieDarcy · 23/10/2025 18:51

I came down with this on Tuesday - felt tired and weepy, then boom the headache hit. Got bad ears, horribly blocked sinuses, really irritating cough, feel dizzy/sick and had an upset stomach though that could be the ibuprofen I've been taking. Had a Covid test from last winter in the cupboard but it was negative. Couldn't face work yesterday or today but really do need to go in tomorrow.... sigh. Haven't had a nasty cold like this for a good few years.

HundredMilesAnHour · 23/10/2025 18:52

Also on week 4. I’m much better than I was but still feel pretty grim and frequently weak, wobbly and exhausted. This is my 4th bout of Covid and it’s been the worst by far.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 23/10/2025 18:53

Bad chest followed by bad diarrhoea at the point when you’d expect to be getting better?
DM has been poorly and is wondering what’s hit her.

Rockfordpeach · 23/10/2025 18:55

Yes i had a terrible cold at the beginning of the month (so much snot 🙈), it triggered a relapse of my MS so ive been completely wiped out and still recovering

Wornouttoday · 23/10/2025 19:06

I had it early September, felt really rough for ten days including awful sweating and tonnes of chesty mucus and coughing all night. It took me two more weeks to feel back to full strength but every few days I have a day of feeling off with headache and cough so I don’t think I have totally got rid of it. It’s a bastard.

Blablibladirladada · 23/10/2025 19:08

Yeap…

infections are coming for us! Get your vitamins & mineral and don’t forget a good cleanse :)

TheGrimSmile · 23/10/2025 19:10

Yes, had similar for about 3 weeks now. Thought it was getting better and it git worse again. I've also done covid tests and all negative. DD had to come home from uni with it. I've never seen her as ill in her whole life. It's bloody awful.

TheGrimSmile · 23/10/2025 19:11

BoldBlueZebra · 22/10/2025 18:25

It’s the worst thing I’ve had for a very long time

Same.

That's strange because my dd said that since she's had it her teeth hurt and feel horrible. It's such a horrible virus.

FajitaFriday · 23/10/2025 19:18

@ProfessionalWhimsicalSkidaddlerI have had the teeth thing too - I googled it and it’s related to the sinuses! I’ve also had bad pain in my upper teeth and cheekbones when bending over which is sinus related too

Ragruggers · 23/10/2025 19:19

We used new COVID tests were negative but my DH collapsed and blue light 999 and tested in A&E it was positive.Felt so ill and now 2 weeks later cough gone but so tired and sleeping badly. It really is awful.

Lemonandorangecheescake · 23/10/2025 19:51

Does anyone have a dry cough with their cold at the moment? I came down with whatever it is about a week ago, starting with chills, since then my throat was on fire for a few days, then I developed this dry cough which is awful with the coughing fits. My nose just runs like a tap too.

ProfessionalWhimsicalSkidaddler · 23/10/2025 19:56

Thanks so much @TheGrimSmile and @FajitaFriday that makes me feel safe in keeping them 🤣 but still extremely sorry for myself.

I think so… the weakest cough ever with no effect on the throat? Only a drink helps.

ChipDaleRescueRangers · 23/10/2025 20:03

I have this exactly and the night sweats are horrendous! Having to change the bedding daily. But I tested positive for covid on day 2 of having it so it most likely is covid you have.

Mines quite a strong cough but I find it more irritating than a chesty cough as there's nothing to cough out and it feels like even cold air will trigger a coughing fit at the moment. Drinking does help slightly.
