Blatantly here for traffic. Been so sick since last Friday. Started with slimy throat and horrible taste in my mouth intermittently on Friday. Saturday onwards a temperature every 3 hours when the drugs wore off, not mega high, over 38c. First day fever free today.the bad throat started Saturday ,all on one side, then bad head cold symptoms, tinnitus, earache, sinus pain and nausea. Continued like that until today when it's worse head cold symptoms.cough Saturday which started off dry and is now mega wet and disgusting. Can't smell a thing. No aches and pain except a little in my back on one side. Have done 2 COVID tests, one Monday one today both clear, new tests from Tesco.

I have this exactly and the night sweats are horrendous! Having to change the bedding daily. But I tested positive for covid on day 2 of having it so it most likely is covid you have.

The only thing I've not had are the night sweats.

BlackCatsAreBrilliant · 23/10/2025 20:12

Had something similar several weeks ago. I did a covid test, but it was negative.

Oh my, the snot. So much, so disgusting. It went on for weeks.

Had it last December and I’m still not right. My ears were bubbling inside but I didn’t test for Covid. GP thought it could have been Covid. I also had terrible vertigo which is now light headedness and feeling as if I’m m falling down, but I don’t fall - it’s mainly when I’m using an even and move my eyeballs. Awful. Have ended up having a blood pressure minitor on 24/7 from the hospital and am now waiting again to do it once more, under the Syncope Clinic. Have had on and off bouts of sinus pain - and the fatigue-ever since. I have to lie down every day after my lunch and coming ‘to’ in the morning simply doesn’t happen. I’m knackered nearly all the time. Blood tests haven’t revealed anything but have just been sent for another full lot of bloods to test because of my fatigue. Also I was walking the dogs last week and out of the blue, my ears started making a soft popping noise internally. Luckily I work for myself and mostly at home but it’s debilitating. There’s something awful out there-am actually feeling like I’m falling as I move my eyes to type 🙄Get well soon OP.

In a weird way I'm glad I read your post because I have had/have had exactly what you describe. It's the weirdest thing ever. I woke up with it one day. And it goes but then it comes back again. And I am completely and utterly exhausted all the time. Earache, my face hurts, I feel like I am getting a cold but I don't, dizzy and very odd sensation when I move my head. I hope you feel better soon.

Mines quite a strong cough but I find it more irritating than a chesty cough as there's nothing to cough out and it feels like even cold air will trigger a coughing fit at the moment. Drinking does help slightly.

Mines exactly the same but not strong. Maybe you’ll get that soon too. Sorry 😢

You poor thing! That’s awful! Hope you’re better soon.

how’s everyone’s teeth? This is going to sound so strange but since, some of my side teeth have felt weak, more mobile and I feel something if I step heavily. I’m certain it’s related. It’s the same side tooth on top left and right and bottom left. I genuinely feel the illness has weakened the inside or what is holding my teeth in my mouth. 😭

Teeth ok, it might be from inflamed sinuses. When mine are bad I feel like this

Does anyone have a dry cough with their cold at the moment? I came down with whatever it is about a week ago, starting with chills, since then my throat was on fire for a few days, then I developed this dry cough which is awful with the coughing fits. My nose just runs like a tap too.

Yeah mine was really dry at the start, every time I went to speak I'd have a coughing fit. Then very quickly turned wet and gross

Update - started to feel better yesterday. Fever had been gone a couple of days, vertigo better, snot slowing down and cough not as bad. Ate some food last night. Woke up in the early hours with bad stomach pains, diarrhea and puked my guts up. It could go either way this morning. Fuck sake.

If it’s like DM, the diarrhoea lasted 12 hours. But she may be taking something…

whereisit1 · 24/10/2025 09:00

I hope it doesn't last long. Although it's better than vomiting

Felt so miserable with this but slightly better today. Rest up vipers ❤️❤️

Wornouttoday · 24/10/2025 13:28

Well I am struggling through work with yet another blocked nose and headache this morning. Seems every time I do something a bit energetic like yesterday eg a long dog walk, I feel a bit rough the next day. Gutted because we’ve got brilliant sunshine and I wanted another long dog walk. Bastard virus.

TheGrimSmile · 23/10/2025 19:14

That's strange because my dd said that since she's had it her teeth hurt and feel horrible. It's such a horrible virus.

I forgot about the vertigo and my teeth hurting gosh darn it this things an animal

BoldBlueZebra · 24/10/2025 15:44

I had a re emergent sore throat yesterday and temp was back up to 38.4 (the day before it was 36.3)
I slept the full night without lots of coughing last night and feel loads better today. So that’s 14 days from first symptoms to pretty much clear.

if it helps anyone symptoms progressed like so:
high temp v& sore throat headache
chesty cough / night sweats
chesty cough with sinus pain then added
teeth pain then vertigo and then conjunctivitis.
the sore throat persisted throughout with varying levels of severity as did the sinus pain.
the cough started to dry up and the teeth and sinus lessened as it did.and the vertigo cleared.
the conjunctivitis and dry cough continued with intermittent headaches and very sore throat and high temp.
the cough was severe throughout until day 12 when it became less strong and less frequent.
day 13 reemergence of very sore throat and high temp
today is day 14 - normal temp light infrequent dry cough remains

ProfessionalWhimsicalSkidaddler · 24/10/2025 16:23

Ok. I’ve spent much of the day on the toilet and coughing with no effect until I heave. I also have the joys of a weird muscle cramp under my boobs and on my upper abdomen. What joy! I’m meant to be out tonight.

whereisit1 · 24/10/2025 21:05

ProfessionalWhimsicalSkidaddler · 22/10/2025 18:50

Yes!!! The taste I thought was just me. I hope you and DS are ok!

I’ve had it to some degree for two weeks now and it’s lingering. It didn’t feel like when I had Covid but after I while I was so fatigued that I took a test.

I’ve never seen so much snot.

Flowers To everyone

Was yours COVID?x

Quiet day here. No more toilet action but was so exhausted I couldn't raise my head from the pillow. Snot has ramped up again. Bad sinus pain. Dread to think what this would be like if I hadn't had my sinuses done a couple of years back

Thanks, was it you that had the bad stomach too and if so what day was that at? Sounds like I've got a long way to go yet. It'll be 8 days tomorrow

My friend has had this - been ill for 2 weeks . The other symptom she had was the sore teeth and a mouth full of ulcers .

abracadabra1980 · 24/10/2025 22:26

@Barney16 the 'stopping / starting' thing was so prevalent in my symptoms at the beginning, and went on for months. Our symptoms seem identical. Did you test for Covid?

ProfessionalWhimsicalSkidaddler · 25/10/2025 00:06

No. Did a test and no covid. Didn’t feel the same as when I had it but was a different long and horrid illness.

around day 7/8 I think after that I couldn’t swallow solid food for a while so it sort of resolved itself

I had the sore mouth a couple of weeks ago. I think it was hand foot and mouth as my son had this.

I felt better for a week but now think I have caught covid from my DH. There seem to be some many illnesses circulating atm.

whereisit1 · 26/10/2025 14:03

Update - tried to get up, failed. Horrendous sinus pain. Ate a little toast then had to run to the toilet . Back in bed for the day ,so weak

I'm on about day 20 now and just started with conjunctivitis. Still got awful cough, intermittent sore throat and shivers on and off. Still also slightly nauseous . Did another covid test and it was negative. Not sure they are accurate though.
