To report a doctor to the GMC?

The doctor in question has a reasonably large (50k) following on TikTok and is currently on a TTC journey.

My concerns are twofold.

Firstly, she shares a lot of inaccurate information on her TikTok page. She will check tests the morning after and state that they are positive, despite being clear evap lines. She then labels her period as a chemical pregnancy.

She has stated in the past that she had endometriosis. She is now saying she didn’t - a clear lie.

Secondly she has admitted in comments that she “codes” any woman she sees in the accident and emergency with bleeding, who has had a positive pregnancy test at home and HCG under 1, as a miscarriage. This is a breach of the NICE guidelines which state that a suspected miscarriage must be confirmed by a pregnancy test in the ED.

I am concerned that she is not just sharing incorrect information on her TT page, but is also telling women who aren’t having miscarriages that they are. This could lead to unnecessary heartbreak and referrals for them.

AIBU to report her?

If what she's done is breaching her ability to be a doctor then yes. I guess if it isn't then they just won't do anything.

There’s a growing concern amongst her viewers that she’s becoming more and more unwell. My concern lies in the fact she’s admitted to breaking NICE guidelines in order to validate women’s belief that they’re having a miscarriage.

There’s also some evidence she’s lied about having a miscarriage. There’s a picture she posted with a caption regarding endometriosis saying it wasn’t a baby bump but “endo bloat”. She’s then later shared that same picture but saying she was pregnant in it. I guess that’s less so a GMC issue as just a really shitty thing to do.

No, does that mean I can’t make a report? It’s not coming from a place of hate or anything like that. I’m just concerned that her own struggles to conceive are clouding her judgment at the moment

She does sound like there's a lot going on there that isn't good. You've nothing to lose by telling GMC. It's up to them if they do anything with it or not I guess.
