Just walking back from town and spotted an advert on the side of a bus stop.

The tag line was (something like)

"As simple as Ted and as cheap as Amir's aftershave"

Picture was of a middle aged(ish) man standing in the middle of two other younger men with his arms on their shoulders

Amir was a younger Asian man - and I didn't find the ad offensive in regards to the comment about him.

However it was the implication that "Ted" was "simple" I found quite offensive.....to me the ad may as well have been saying he was thick, stupid or any other nasty term used to describe someone with learning disabilities.

May I'm just hormonal (PMT) but I really did find it quite off............

As a Royal Mail employee I find it offensive that they waste all that money on advertising gimmicks whilst cutting jobs and closing post offices left right and centre.

But thats a whole other subject .. sorry for the rant!

Maybe it was implying that Ted lives an uncomplicated, stress free, simple life?

Total tangent but, my dr irritated me the other day because she was pronouncing all her 'th' sounds as 'f' (eg 'fankyou').

I don't think so QB - the way "Ted" was posed (can't really describe it - and can't find it online anywhere) didn't rely imply that he was living a stress free life........

Think you are being unreasonable,. It's just a bit of lighthearted advertising.

I saw this and did a quick intake of breath

Borderline, but I'd expect better of them (not sure why, the feckers keep losing our post)

I didn't like it either.
