Hair extensions help

Hey just looking for some advice
Ive been bleaching my hair for 16 years, NEVER had an issue, went through a break up and a pregnancy decided to dye my hair from white blonde to black hated it immediately and bleached the loving hell out of it to a point it came out in literal clumps. My hair is genuinely my safety blanket and I've been left with what can only be described as as a mullet. I haven't bleached it in at least 6 months and the ends have grown slightly but the sides are lit to the top of my ears.
Ive been wearing clip in hair extensions but because the top is so short they dont blend.
I know it's such a first world problem and its a ridiculous thing to be upset about but my hair is my safety blanket. Are there any extensions methods that could potentially work? Or do I just do a Britney and shave the whole lot off? I am booked into see a hairdresser on Tuesday but I am just praying that there's some sort of method that could stop me walking around looking like a Rod Stuart tribute act

What about wigs or toppers? I would shave it to a number one or two then embrace the short and wear wigs sometimes. I did have to do that when I did exactly what you did, bleach blonde, then pink, then black. In about a week. I had a massive hole in the top like a medieval monk!

Yeah I have experience and/or knowledge of all of the options. Which area do you feel need to cover is it just the sides? If you have enough on top a U part wig might be an option for you. If you need to cover the top then a hair topper would be better.

I have had extensions for years, and used clip ins. I now use hair toppers day to day with a headband and have just invested in a couple of lace front wigs for occasions.
