Is sprowston in Norwich a nice place to live?

We are thinking of relocating from London suburbs to Norwich and was hoping for some advice. I have a daughter who is 3 and potentially may have another baby in the future.
We have found a lovely house in Sprowston that is a really decent price and has everything we are looking for…detached, big garden and not too close to neighbours. We’ve had bad experiences with neighbours so have ruled our terraces or detached.
For this reason the Golden triangle and Eaton are not feasible as it’s not in our price range.

Sprowston seems to has good value for money houses but is it a good area for a young family? I would really like to have a sense of community where we live. Any advice would be appreciated!

Haha no. It’s horrible unless you like strangers commenting on your appearance from a safe distance

Eh? That's weirdly specific!

It's fine OP, not the poshest area but also not rough. Plenty of shops, schools, playgroups etc, good bus routes and close to the NDR to get out of Norwich by car.

Yet accurate. Can’t walk down Sprowston Road to the town without weird harassment

It’s alright. It’s not the nicest area but not the worst. Norwich is a nice place to live so anywhere in Norwich compared to the suburbs of London is going to be nice! (We moved from South London to a town on the Norfolk / Suffolk border 15 years ago and love it here). You could widen your search area to many of the local towns / villages just outside Norwich. You’ll have much more choice in terms of detached housing and space etc.

Thanks everyone. It’s pretty much what I assumed, not the worst part but not posh either. I get the feeling it’s mostly residential

It’s one of the largest suburbs of Norwich. Lots of amenities, supermarkets, good nurseries and schools. Near lots of woodland and 30 minutes from the coast, 15 minutes from the Broads. Regular buses into Norwich, which is two or three miles. My Dd lives there, never been harassed! Not the poshest part of Norwich, but a long way from being the roughest. Some lovely houses. I’d recommend it. Thorpe nearby is nice too,

Eaton is considerably nicer.

There’s much nicer areas to live OP but it’s fairly harmless.
