What's happened to Zoopla?

I'm looking to sell a property, and buy a new one, and beyond that I'm very nosy. As a result, I'm a long-time fan of Zoopla Sold House Prices. Time was you could see previous listings for pretty much any property that had changed hands in the post-internet past.

But I've noticed over the last year or two, it seems like there are exponentially fewer listings available. If I put in a local postcode or street, I might be able to see the history of one or two properties, but the vast majority will have no info available, or at best the last sold price, but no listing - even when I can see they've changed hands in the last five years or so. What has happened to all the archived listings? Is it data protection? Any ideas? Anyone else in mourning for this great service, RIP?

While wondering how much our house is now worth I tried to look up next door on Zoopla as I know it changed hands a couple of years ago.
That sale isn't listed. It's weird.

Try rightmove

I’ve looked at Rightmove too but doesn’t seem much better/different!

Prime Location.

Prime Location is part of Zoopla - or it was anyway and I assume still is.
I used to look up property sold prices on Zoopla but haven't used it recently.

If you go onto a listing on Rightmove and scroll almost to the bottom it has a ‘house price history’ link (might be worded differently). It’s a bit hidden amongst all the fluff but it’s definitely there, and very useful too!

The owner of a property can ask for previous listing(s)/ photographs to be removed. Sold prices are not shown when the purchaser is a company, or if the purchase was part of a multiple transaction, i.e. a BTL company/landlord buying several flats at the same time. You also need to factor in the delays at the Land Registry, that can be considerable.

I don't think it's because people have asked them to be removed in most cases though - something has clearly changed to make the default case on Zoopla 'less information'. Maybe Rightmove took legal action?
