I have a wisdom tooth that is partially erupted at the bottom. It has a filling in it but there's a black mark on the filling. I pointed it out to the dentist at the last visit but tgey said it's OK and sometimes fillings do get discoloured. Has anyone heard of this happening? I'm worried it's decay as it's a bottom wisdom tooth and the roots are near a nerve they are worried about taking it out... 😖 would you phone and ask for a check or am I being fussy and dentist knows best?

Why would you need the dentist to check again if they’ve recently checked it and reassured you?

If the mark is on the filling rather than the tooth it won't be decay.
The dentist has checked it and said its fine so unless it starts causing you pain or problems there's nothing to worry about.

Just it looked a little bit darker. I wondered if anyone else had experienced the same problem with one of their fillings.

Thanks. I've never seen Mark on filling before.
