❄️Winter Warmer Game Changers!❄️

Hello all 🙂

As the temperature gets noticeably chillier, I thought I’d ask what your newly discovered or long-standing go to winter warmer game changers are?

So mine is a little desk heater which costs just a couple of pence an hour to run and keeps a steady flow of heat across my desk when I’m wfh so once I’m all layered up as well, it’s resulted on me not needing to put the heating on far longer than before I had it!

Second is an oldie but new to me, so it’s a heated mattress topper which has quite literally changed my life! So previously I was using hot water bottles as I just felt to nervous for some reason at the thought of electric wires being enmeshed in my bedding! However, the safety features have advanced massively and after my hot water bottle leaked into my bed one night, I felt inspired to face my fear lol.

It’s just so incredible like sorcery 😅 to jump into a chilly bed, push a button and feel the bed gradually warm up and toast your whole body gently. It’s pretty cost effective also as is approx. 4p full power per min but reality is it’s so powerful you’d probably have it on medium most nights so is about 2p per hour.

So I’ve had my two winter life savers for 1-2 years now and the difference they make in terms of comfort and frugality just can’t be beat!

What are yours? 🧣

Can you link to the desk heater, OP? I can't quite envisage what you mean. I have a small oil-filled radiator under my desk - it creates a little warm bubble around me so I don't need to heat the whole house.

I also second the electric blanket for the bed - toasty!

I've never worn and nightwear until recently but was getting into bed cold. I got two brushed cotton/flanelette long sleeve nightshirts and they have been a gamechange for me

I've been looking for brushed cotton nighties this morning and am only coming up with very old style ones (whose adverts are now haunting me around MN)

The nightshirts are brill but the buttons can come undone and the facings ruffle up so would prefer something flat fronted

I’ve attached a pic of my desk heater but unfortunately couldn’t find an active link.

Yes the oil filed radiator is a good idea but the ones I bought are quite expensive to run so I just have them collecting dust as an emergency in case my central heating ever breaks down!

Oh yes love anything brushed cotton!

Actually another tip from me is that Primark are currently selling ‘Cosy long sleeve tops’ £6 each. I’ll attach a pic below. Honestly they’re incredible. So very soft and warming with a sort of fleecy interior. I’ve started to incorporate them into my layering routine and properly will wear to bed also on particularly cold nights!
