Will Trump get the Nobel peace prize if this deal comes off?

It’s apparently something he really wants. Do you think he will get it if he has got a lasting peace deal between Israel and Hamas?

Yes and deservedly so.

I'm a big fan of Trump anyway but there's something truly pathetic about hating him so much that you can't recognise how big it is to end this war, if he's able to make it happen.

I'm certain there are plenty of people who would rather the war continued. Probably the same people you see chanting slogans they don't understand at marches every weekend.

I don't think he's a nice person. But he's done really well with foreign policy. Even during his previous term.

POTUS should make America First a priority

Everyone’s own country is a priority but a country cannot act in isolation, it has to work with cooperation . America isn’t the greatest country in the world, it’s just one country.

tinytemper66 · 10/10/2025 08:40

He is not worthy of any prize. He is a cheater in life. He makes my skin crawl when he speaks. He has power ns money to get him where he is. He is a revolting man with no morals or gravitas.

The decisions are apparently made in January, so not this year, I wouldn’t think.

KitchenSinkLlama · 10/10/2025 08:45

A man who has ICE agents terrorising his citizens can hardly be seen as a candidate for the Peace Prize.

chipshopElvis · 10/10/2025 08:51

No, because if he'd cut of weapons supply to Israel it would have stopped long before now. Other presidents wouldn't have let things escalate.

Parker231 · 10/10/2025 07:41

If America hadn’t continuously supported Israel, there wouldn’t have been a war.

Don't be ridiculous. Don't you know anything about this conflict at all?

Hooohd · 10/10/2025 08:55

What did Biden do?

Of course - everyone knows. Why has America supported Israel financially and militarily? Netanyahu is a war criminal - supported by America.

Slept mostly, and ate ice cream

I dont care what prize anyone gets.

If he secures an end to the genocide and the return of the hostages, he deserves a bloody medal.

This! 👏👏
People really will find ANY reason to be pissed off at Trump. I don't like the guy but, Jesus, give him credit where/if it's due!

MrsSkylerWhite · 10/10/2025 09:13

I imagine some existing holders of the prize will hand theirs back if he does. Would make a mockery of it.

AzurePanda · 10/10/2025 09:25

He would certainly be a more deserving recipient of it than Obama who had been in office for 5 minutes and achieved very little.

TheNuthatch · 10/10/2025 09:42

Of course he should get the nobel prize. Credit where it's due, he has achieved what nobody else could.

Anybody would have stood up to Putin and Netanyahu better. They’re just playing him
and continuously break agreements made with him, all the while they continuing the killing at at a heightened more powerful level because they have Trump on their side.

Who though?

Maybe Palestine and Hamas need to ask the same thing? Why does America support Israel and not them?

What’s this nonsense about him being good at foreign policy? He’s literally a laughing stock on the world stage. He panders to dictators and parties with war criminals. His UN speech was toe curlingly embarrassing.

The sooner this man dies (and I hope painfully and alone) the better.

He can barely string a sentence together. In fact he cannot string a single sentence together. I feel as though I’m in some insane parallel universe where people say things like ‘he’s quite good at foreign policy though.’ He couldn’t point to his own feet, let alone a country on a map. Policy? Jesus Christ. I actually think people are as addled as he is to say this stuff with a straight face.

Sorry for the rant but I’m living in a perpetual state of disbelief about just how f**king thick people are now.

India-Pakistan.

Zelensky has taken billions of dollars worth of money and equipment from the US, Trump's allowed to have a say. Ukraine don't have a path to victory at all. It's been a waste of money.

Now we have a peace deal for Israel and Gaza.

You seem to be buying the kool-aid the WH is selling..

India-Pakistan. US Presidents for past few decades have been able to force Pakistan to do things because it's an army-controlled state that is highly dependent on foreign aid. Nothing new there.

Ukraine. Best use of money the the US DOD when compared to the trillions poured into defense budgets. For starters, a lot of the air were equipment US wouldn't use anyways. More importantly, fantastic testing ground for US equipment minus the lives at stake for US. Showed up all the vulnerable spots in Russian army and equipment. Ukraine showed even with US's 3rd tier kit, they could ground the Russians to a halt.

Israel-Gaza. There are 1000s of 12-15 year olds in Gaza right now (those still alive despite the killing kit and support the US gave Netanyahu) who will harbour mad resentment and grudges for the rest of their lives. Do you seriously think this thing is over?

SpottyAardvark · 11/10/2025 08:22

I hope so because, for all Trump’s many faults, he will deserve it.

Well the award has been given and it wasn’t Trump - why do you think he deserved it?

It's laughable that people say he's good at foreign policy.

He's been made a laughing stock by Putin. He's alienated most of the world leaders bar the totalitarian states. He's actively stated he wanted the US to acquire Greenland and he's managed to seriously damage the relationship with Canada, who has historically had the closest and warmest ties with the US over decades. That relationship will take decades to recover, if it ever fully does.

Oh and apparently he's managed to stop a war between Armenia and Cambodia. If that statement alone doesn't make people stop and think how inept and incompetent he is then there's no hope.

You can't argue with stupid. You really can't.

The only way I can see him positively impacting foreign policy is in uniting other countries in their disbelief at him being president of the United States.

mellongoose · 11/10/2025 08:35

His skill is not diplomacy, it’s the art of cutting a deal. It’s a totally different skill set. I don’t think anyone can deny that the deal he has just cut is pretty miraculous (should it work).

It's interesting you say that because I actually believe the legacy of the Trump administration will be for the rest of the world to continue building new power blocks and alliances, with new economic super powers emerging and superseding. China is already pivoting towards less economic dependence on the US as it considers the US too unstable.

As Russia is collapsing economically, that will create a vacuum and opportunities for other countries to step into that space and capitalise on their assets.

The world has for too long enabled the US to be the economic super power and its now coming to terms with the dangers of putting all the eggs in one politically unstable basket. The US has demonstrated that it is now no longer leader of the free world and a leading light in democracy. It has lost its global credibility.
