Will Trump get the Nobel peace prize if this deal comes off?

It’s apparently something he really wants. Do you think he will get it if he has got a lasting peace deal between Israel and Hamas?

I don't really think it's likely that it will "solve" the situation, although there have been extended periods of relative quiet in the past so I guess that could happen.

I don't really see Hamas as being willing to back down though, unless Iran pulls on their leash.

It will be too soon to know anyway this year. It would at least make more sense than Obama's nomination I suppose, if it did work.

Possibly and as much as I loathe the guy, maybe he deserves it (should it all work out). Sometimes his sledgehammer, blunt instrument diplomacy works.

Well let’s be fair about this. The winners of this years Nobel Prize for Physics have had to wait 40 years since they did the work. That seems like a reasonable timescale to see if it’s truly a lasting peace. Shame that Nobels can’t be awarded posthumously …

He really doesn’t. He has extended the war and could have put a stop to atrocities happening, ditto the war in Ukraine.

If you make wars worse when you have the power to stop them you don’t deserve a peace prize.

I'm a big fan of Trump anyway but there's something truly pathetic about hating him so much that you can't recognise how big it is to end this war, if he's able to make it happen.

I'm certain there are plenty of people who would rather the war continued. Probably the same people you see chanting slogans they don't understand at marches every weekend.

Anybody would have stood up to Putin and Netanyahu better. They’re just playing him
and continuously break agreements made with him, all the while they continuing the killing at at a heightened more powerful level because they have Trump on their side.
