To go for a new job with a new mortgage

I bought my first property earlier this year and I’ve seen a great job opportunity come up. It’s less money but I’d eventually move up the pay scale to match my current salary.

Am I being financially reckless to change jobs so early into being a homeowner? It’s just me, so no partner’s salary to fall back on. Is there anything I should be aware of?

Have you worked out your monthly outgoings and whether there is leverage between the difference?

Can you still afford everything? Is your mortgage fixed? If so then go for it.

Do the sums, if you can afford it, go for it. You might be able to negotiate a better initial salary than you think.
