With wanting to buy a bunch of flowers for less than 10 pounds

Having a friend to stay for the weekend and want to place a vase of flowers in her room.

You can't seem to get anything worthwhile delivered for less than 50 quid.

Marks and Spencer used to do beautiful bunches of flowers in a glass vase, can you still get these?

M&S flowers start at £4… saw them yesterday. Daffodils even cheaper.

I remember when you used to be able to buy a bunch of daffodils for a pound in the supermarket!

Anndalouzier · 17/02/2026 05:01

Delivered ?

You still can! I got 3 bunches in my local Co op this week

I’ve been buying roses with my tesco home delivery, £3 a bunch. We got orange and red the other week and they were absolutely beautiful once they’d bloomed. None available this week (due to valentine’s so all sold out) so got 2 bunches of daffodils for £2. They are also gorgeous.

MayaPinion · 17/02/2026 05:15

I bought two cheap and cheerful bunches of carnations for £6 from Lidl. Not the most exciting flower, but they’re cheery and last for ages.

They still are. £1 a bunch on my tesco delivery this week and they started opening up as soon as I put them in water. Love daffs as reminds me that spring is not too far away.

I would never think of ordering a bouquet just to have flowers in a guest room. I’ve got a lovely bunch of tulips at the moment which cost £8 from Tesco. All supermarkets have flowers under £10

Bluegreenbird · 17/02/2026 06:25

Bit weird to pay the massive premium to get a bunch delivered.
For a bedroom I’d get a small bunch of sweet peas from M&S as they have a good scent. Lots of other flowers smell of wee after a few days.

Shoxfordian · 17/02/2026 06:29

Daffodils are £1 for a bunch. Get some of them

Have you never seen any flowers in m&s or waitrose or looked at the prices?!

Notmyreality · 17/02/2026 06:30

Bizarre post

SisterTeatime · 17/02/2026 06:35

Daffodils! M&S usually has a great selection of seasonal flowers. Just buy whatever is cheapest and put plenty in the vase. They usually sell eucalyptus as well if you want a bit of greenery, or just chop a bit off something in your garden.

Lidl, Tesco and Waitrose all do many decent bunches for less than £10!!

This!

WishIWasHibernating · 17/02/2026 06:53

Narcissi by post from Scilly Island Flowers. Beautiful, generous, scented, cheap and supporting a small family business!

goz · 17/02/2026 06:59

3 or 4 single bunches of tulips from a supermarket, they’re often about £2.50 each and a couple of bunches makes it quite substantial.

You’re obviously not getting anything delivered from a florist for a tenner, even in M&S daffodils are probably the only thing under £10.

You still can. But then we don't live near a Waitrose or M and S 😁

I think they are still £1 even in M&S!

ToriMounj · 17/02/2026 07:08

Lidl

PinkyFlamingo · 17/02/2026 07:13

Why think about going straight for delivery?

beasmithwentworth · 17/02/2026 07:13

Someone told me recently that M and S have the best deal with the flower company they use out of all of the large retailers. I have no idea if this is true but it does explain their v reasonably priced flowers if it is! Someone bought me 3 bunches of tulips on Valentine’s Day and I have a feeling they were about £4 a bunch. All different colours. They look beautiful.

I get flowers from Aldi. £3.99 and usually last around 10 days or sometimes more!!

I’ve always found Aldi the best for long lasting flowers

Str0ganoff · 17/02/2026 09:04

Many are flown around the world with a big carbon footprint and are covered in pesticides. I use house plants , seed heads and grow my own now.

gototogo · 17/02/2026 09:04

Lidl or Aldi, lovely flowers for around £5, other supermarkets a little more. It’s the delivery that’s expensive

Miranda65 · 17/02/2026 09:07

Daffodils are £1 a bunch at the moment. Just buy 10 of those and you'll have a glorious display, and a hopeful sign that spring is finally on its way.
