Child contact

So the father of my child wants our child every other sunday we live 45 minutes from each other he expects me to drop our child off because he will be to hungover to drive as he goes out drinking every Saturday night! Tbh im really annoyed about that and I dont think its fair. Considering he doesn't share any of the other aspects of childcare. I have limited income where he has his own company and works full time. If I refuse to do this will it look bad against me if it were to be taken to court which is where I think it will go eventually.

Did your ex move away or did you? You have to facilitate visitation but you don’t have to do all the driving. The ideal situation would be to meet half way but if he’s already playing games and not contributing then I would suggest he takes you to court for formal access.

Absolutely no way would I be doing that. Keep everything in writing. State plainly that no, you will not be providing a once fortnightly delivery service of your child to look after, while he’s still drunk/hungover from the night before. Your child will be available on ‘x’ days at ‘x’ times of he would like to choose other contact times, preferable when he has no alcohol in his system. Being sober for his child one day a fortnight is not hard
