To have a halloween disco party for my son, 1 week after Halloween?

First world problems! It's my sons 6th birthday coming up and the only time I can get the DJ/Disco is the weekend after halloween like just over a whole week later. Can I still keep the halloween theme or is it weird, should I just do a generic disco birthday party? Just thought it was easier to decorate and more fun.

Yes of course! It's still the Halloween spirit in early November. I think a number of Halloween events are in early November

ramonaquimby · 08/10/2025 12:32

That would be weird.

SalamiSammich · 08/10/2025 12:32

I think people will be over it a week later, sorry!

Uricon2 · 08/10/2025 12:33

It's now Spooky Season really and I don't think you can have too many Halloween parties! Go for it.

I wouldn’t be a fan as I’m Halloweened out by then as there has been a school disco, community party, guising and possibly another party too so quite glad it’s over for another year!

Legomania · 08/10/2025 12:42

To be honest, in my opinion if you're hitting bonfire night, Halloween is over. Could there be a potential clash there too with local fireworks events? I'd go generic

Bundleflower · 08/10/2025 12:43

I think it’s a great idea and helps get another use out of the outfits that are always lost or don’t fit by the next year.

Ooogle · 08/10/2025 12:43

It’ll be fine, kids can get the monies worth out of their costumes!

Crapola25 · 08/10/2025 12:45

We are overseas so there's no bonfire night here. So it would be weekend of the 8th November. To be honest Halloween here is nothing like it is in the UK which I really miss. Not many people celebrate it, mainly the expats but DS is in an international school. They have a Halloween party at school for an afternoon but there's nothing else on locally. I suppose people might be over it by then!

Trick or treat should be on the 31st only, but otherwise go for it. I am biased as autumn is my favourite time of year, so anything to celebrate it more is great 🍄

tripleginandtonic · 08/10/2025 14:17

No, too late for Halloween but make it bonfire night related instead

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 08/10/2025 14:29

I think it’s absolutely fine - it’s only trick or treating that’s confined to one night.

You could just call it a spooky disco if you’re concerned.
