I was looking for a job and then I found a job

I was looking for a job and then I found a job
And Heaven knows, I'm miserable now
In my life, why do I give valuable time
To people who don't care if I live or die?

Am i reasonable to think this. Just a tiny, replaceable cog in a gaint machine - actually, probably don't need to be replaced!!

I hear you.

(and am old enough to get the reference)

Yamyamabroad · 08/10/2025 10:42

I sing this to myself most days at work....

Tamfs · 08/10/2025 10:44

I hear you. I had a period of about 18 months thinking I wanted a new job, but eventually realised they usually mostly make you miserable, switched my focus to life outside of work and I am much happier!

You're supposed to balance it with being happy in the haze of a drunken hour.

I sing "I was looking for an X and then I found an X" whenever I lose something which is quite often.
"I was looking for a cashcard and then I found a cashcard"
"I was looking for a hair bobble and then I found a hair bobble"
Although I leave off being miserable.

Lol, I've been desperately looking for a new job for 6 months, as I was loathing everything in the small firm where I am (see username) - then I dramatically landed a fantastic job with a great package in a giant international firm. And now I'm shitting myself that I'll hate the renewed bureaucracy and be terrible at it. 🤣

"I was looking for a job and then I found a job...." 🎵🎶

I was looking for a job and then I had a MH break and heavens know I'm mistake now. Also still unemployed and unable to manage interviews.
Yay.

Could be worse - you could have a girlfriend in a coma

Or be meeting someone at the cemetery gates with Keats and Yeats.

Ooh love the smiths... They really are a light that never goes out

You’d be a lot happier if you took that bunch of gladioli out of your back pocket😉

Lol I’m going to start doing this 😁

And heaven knows I’m happier now
In my life, why do I waste valuable time
Losing so many things which I then usually fiiiindddd!”

It took me 18 months to get my current and yesterday I cried at work. For the second time in 6 months.
