Should I feel guilty for doing this when WFH?

I WFH 3 days a week, I get everything done that I need to and my manager is happy with how I’m getting on.

There is the odd lull in the day, and increasingly recently I’ve been using this time to ‘have fun’ shall we say with my DP, who is usually finished with his work and home by 2pm every day.

I am technically getting paid for this, which we always have a laugh about after.

Would you feel a bit guilty? As I said, I’m getting all my work done.

Keep it as your late lunch break and then it’s ok

Many years ago I had a job where it was possible to have sex on site during paid time without being discovered.

🤣🤣😆

StewkeyBlue · 07/10/2025 19:58

The honest thing to do would be to tell your manager that you have capacity to take on more.

Which they would see if you were in the office.

This is why employers are not fully confident that WFH is as productive as it might be.

somanythingssolittletime · 07/10/2025 20:04

Why would you care? I cook, do laundry, do grocery shopping, tidy up the house, all while I WFH. I deliver all my work and I am always online on my phone to talk to coworkers on Teams, so who cares if I do everything else so I can spend actual family time with the kids when I clock out?

ExpertInAbsolutelyZero · 07/10/2025 20:05

I think everyone is still working to stretch targets after covid, so why should OP offer to be more stretched. Work/life balance is important.

BlueberryLatte · 07/10/2025 20:09

I don't think anyone's clutching their pearls, maybe just thinking the online announcement - <clears throat> "EVERYBODY, LISTEN UP! GATHER ROUND...I SHAGGED MY HUSBAND TODAY. I REPEAT, I VERY MUCH HAD SEX WITH MY HUSBAND TODAY", comes across as a bit performative/creepy depending. Don't try and include us in your afterglow please. Enjoy that in private.

nam3c4ang3 · 07/10/2025 20:13

Did you just want to tell us you still shag op? This is super odd.

LivingTheDreamish · 07/10/2025 20:29

I am constantly amazed at what people do when they are "working from home". There is a reason why employers are trending towards calling employees back to the office.

toomuchfaff · 07/10/2025 20:34

Oh ffs rage bait bullshit - coincidental that government is pushing for everyone to get back to the office to drive the economy 🙄 and then posts on MN " i fuck when im meant to be wfh"

Have a rest.

Jllllllll · 07/10/2025 20:38

Putting the odd load of washing on is one thing. What you’re talking about is something I think it’s odd that you’ve felt the need to ask on here??

ParmaVioletTea · 07/10/2025 20:50

Ugh.

Endorewitch · 07/10/2025 20:55

Do we really want to know when she has sex?

TicklishMintDuck · 07/10/2025 21:02

This is a perfect example of over sharing. We don’t need to know!

BeBluntPinkRobin · 07/10/2025 21:04

Jilly Cooper, who has sadly just died, would be cheering you on for sure! 😆

Bloobelly · 07/10/2025 21:05

BeBluntPinkRobin · 07/10/2025 21:04

Jilly Cooper, who has sadly just died, would be cheering you on for sure! 😆

Why? Because she had a shag and then went on mumsnet to tell us?

Buffypaws · 07/10/2025 21:07

Why not?

my assistant, when we are in the office, will go off to the bog and send her boyfriend photos of her thong as foreplay and then come back in and show me.

MummyJ36 · 07/10/2025 21:15

this calls for the cringe button…

Think k about it this way: if workplace found out would they fire you? Probably yes, unless you delay lunch break til 2pm when he comes in and then what u do is more or less you’re own business

JLou08 · 07/10/2025 21:22

I don't understand some of these negative comments, pointless thread comments etc. It's no less pointless than most of the stuff posted on here. Is there some jealousy around OP having a good sex life and work/life balance?

LadyKenya · 07/10/2025 21:24

BeBluntPinkRobin · 07/10/2025 18:08

Why is everyone biting at the OP, she hasn't typed anything that would make even the most maiden of aunts have the vapours.

Well I think that it shows a lack of decorum, to start such a thread, but different standards, and all that.

DoYouReally · 07/10/2025 21:31

Even WHF people are entitled to a lunch break. What they do with it isn't an employers business, unless it's against company policy.

Continously breaks to do anything, sex or otherwise, is a problem.

housemaus · 07/10/2025 21:33

Couldn't care less what my team are doing when they WFH (or office - people often pop out to the shop in the town centre during the day to avoid it being as busy or a queue at the pharmacy etc. No shagging in office as far as I know though) as long as the work gets done, so I don't think it's unreasonable. Our work is project based though so as long as deadlines are met and someone isn't dramatically taking the piss by working a third of the time or something, it's fine. Obviously would be different if it's meaning you get less work than you should done or you're taking calls and someone else has to pick the slack up!

TJk86 · 07/10/2025 21:34

Gross thread but unless you are after a promotion, it’s fine to do bare minimum to keep the boss happy and then get on with other stuff when WFH.

Evaka · 07/10/2025 21:34

lazyarse123 · 07/10/2025 15:50

No i don't think it's right. Either ask for more work or reduce your hours. Shit like this why, when it's discovered that people are being told to go back into the office.

Oh come on.

luckylavender · 07/10/2025 21:36
