To burn through our joint airmiles for a solo trip?

I have some enforced time off work. DH can't get any more time off/ doesn't want to as we recently went on holiday together.

I don't have heaps of cash, but I have a good number of airmiles that I could use to pay for long haul flights to somewhere adventurous for a solo trip. These are joint miles that we both earn, but I probably earn about 70% of them.

We had been saving these up for a trip together, but have been finding that airmiles are harder and harder to use. DH supports me using them now. AIBU?

I probably couldn't afford to go if I had to pay say £800 on flights, but if I use airmiles the flights will be say £150 and then I can afford the trip.

He’s supporting you so do it! Get him a nice gift while you’re wherever you go.

I did this! The reality of using the avios for our family trips doesn’t work as the flights aren’t available/we don’t want to fly BA etc. So I used a chunk on a girls trip to Majorca. Wouldn’t bother me if DH did the same but we don’t obsessively collect them so I see them as a bonus rather than having much worth.
