Delivery didn’t arrive

I ordered a large piece of exercise equipment a couple of weeks ago. Thought “hmm that’s taking a while to arrive” and decided to give it a few more days. Didn’t get any “it’s on its way/it’s been delivered” emails.

Then got a feedback request email from the company. I’ve messaged telling them it didn’t turn up.

They’re claiming it was delivered (it bloody wasn’t) and asking me to take a picture of my front door so they can check with the courier that they delivered it to the right address.

Well I will happily do that but what’s it going to prove?! Don’t they have to take a pic of the item in an OPEN doorway?? I’ve heard of couriers taking pics of items and then just taking them away again.

AIBU to expect a refund?? It’s a lot of money 😕

Take the pic, why not. But ultimately their responsibility is to deliver you an item. So hel0 them investigate but it's their issue if it wasn't delivered

Yes as I said I’m happy to take the pic but don’t see how it’s going to prove I actually took
the item in 🤷‍♀️

They should be providing you with proof of delivery.

Shatteredallthetimelately · 05/10/2025 13:10

It's not up to you to prove anything.

You pay for items and the company that you've purchased from pays a delivery company to deliver those items.

You've fulfilled your part of the deal, if the delivery driver delivered them elsewhere that's their problem.

I'd be wary of sending a picture of your door as I don't see what that would solve, only that they'd then have a picture of your door....maybe I'm cynical but they could reply yes that's the door they delivered to.

You need them to send you a picture of the actual door it was delivered to with the item showing outside it, even then again being cynical, it doesn't prove you actually personally received the goods unless you're in the photo.

Raise a charge back claim with your bank on the basis you paid for something you didn't receive.

BasicBrumble · 05/10/2025 13:20

They should be sending you a photo of delivery. They need proof, not you!

ErrorCode350 · 05/10/2025 13:22

I’ve never had that before. What’s the point of them asking you to take a pic of your door? If you had received it and was trying it on surely you’d just take a pic of someone else’s door? 😆

Many emails back and forth. They’re still insisting it was delivered. It wasn’t. They’ve stopped replying to my emails now.

Deerrun treadmills. AVOID.

This. Don't contine to engage with them. The bank will want proof that you have tried to get a decision from the company and you have the email trail as proof.

Did you pay with a credit card? Raise a S.75. the credit card company will refund and chase the company for their money.

Only ever use PayPal to buy online. You are protected if anything goes wrong.

Did you ask for proof.

ICanSeeClearlyNowLorraineHasGone · 09/10/2025 22:27

They’ve stopped responding to my emails now. I asked for proof since they were insistent they delivered it.

So I phoned them. Apparently my refund has been approved and will be in my bank in the next 3-7 days.

We shall see.
