Nearly 500 arrested for support for Palestinian Action Group a proscribed terrorist organisation

This is getting ridiculous. The same group, think they can do what they want which includes, using a sledgehammer to attack a person, breaking into a military base and causing millions of pounds worth of damage. Hatred towards Jewish people.

It appears these people feel the law doesn't apply to them. None of the above is peaceful protest. Stronger sentences or fines are needed.

I'll ask you again, @nomas why are you so keen to defend marches when you don't appear to have engaged at all with the reasons people might have a problem with them?

lampshadez · 05/10/2025 11:15

Yes, my reflection is that reporting someone for saying that someone has very few posts to their name is quite cynical and calculated.

Accusing people of being bots because they don't agree with you is very cynical & calculated.

lampshadez · 05/10/2025 11:16

And yet you, yourself on this very thread saw fit to highlight the arrests for assaulting police officers at the Tommy Robinson march.

So cynical isn't it.

Why are those worth highlighting but the violence at the pro-Palestine march not?

The thugs at the UtK protest were arrested for violence against police.

Here is one of the arrested at the Palestine protest

I’m suspicious of people with strong views and 9 posts to their name, so sue me

You are a liar, you accused me and I had more than 9 posts to my name.

How many do you have?

CautiousLurker01 · 05/10/2025 11:18

NototerrorismIntheUK · 05/10/2025 09:32

I agree. When they cover faces with masjs and scarfs and chant they are quite intimidating.

Have been up to London at the weekends a lot recently as DD started uni and DS visiting uni open days. Their presence is intimidating and clearly has not achieved anything after 2 years, but significantly the police presence was equally intimidating - there were buses from dozens of forces including Yorks and Midlands. Either/both diverting manpower from those towns and pushing the cost to tax payers up.

lampshadez · 05/10/2025 11:18

More than 9!

Again, why are you defending something you appear to know nothing about?

Democracy?

Would Starmer have recognised the state of Palestine if people hadn’t marched?

PandoraSocks · 05/10/2025 11:19

Lifecanbebeautiful12 · 05/10/2025 10:59

But why exactly do you think this? Is it not anti semitic to weaponise the deaths of 2 Jewish men to allow a foreign state to continue a genocide? Are you saying that the Jewish community in Manchester/the UK are responsible for the Israeli governments actions? Is that not anti semitic?

Are you saying that the Jewish community in Manchester/the UK are responsible for the Israeli governments actions?

No. And you absolutely know that.

I suppose you think Starmer is anti-semitic, too?

Where is the violence in the arrest in the link I posted?

@nomas if you are truly concerned MNs can confirm I am not a bot. I will await an apology.

From Matthew Syed, honestly these people are just moral voids.

May as well make the argument that if some muslims get executed in the street because someone decides to hold them responsible for the actions of I danno Iran then it’s totally fine to hold a protest where people slag off muslims because they kinda deserve it y’know.

If you can change the subjects in any opinion you hold and still think the argument looks fine then have at it. But I suspect that most of the people who actively support these protest going ahead just hate Jews tbh. I said it before but I am genuinely appalled by what appears to be pretty high levels of latent anti-semitism. It’s depressing and I genuinely think there would be handwringing over any other grouo being subject to this shit.

Also can we please stop ignoring islamists etc, they are a genuine threat, no Jew has been murdering people in the streets of Britain on behalf of Hashem. We need to get a grip of this shit instead of pandering to it.

I asked a simple question at a pro-Palestine protest and it turned ugly

Police arrested 493 people at the pro-Palestine protests in Trafalgar Square, where I encountered abuse, swearing, ignorance and virulent, unthinking antisemitism

You haven't seen these specific instances? What the fuck are you doing defending marches when you don't appear to have the slightest clue why people might be objecting to them?

Indeed.

NOTANUM · 05/10/2025 11:22

Matthew Syed’s eye account from yesterday’s London protest was powerful and illuminating.
Most protesters knew nothing about the latest push for peace and an imminent ceasefire much less have a coherent opinion on it.
Most refused to condemn Hamas.
All bar two couldn’t or wouldn’t debate coherently. They threatened and abused Syed instead.. Free speech is not for anyone who disagrees with them.
Most were extremely left wing and anti-semitism was rife.
Let’s not kid ourselves that this group’s motives is purely to improve Gazans lives. It goes much further and is more ugly than that by a long way.

Here you go, Pro Palestinian protestors arrested for assaulting police officers.

Any comment?

That’s not the link I posted. It was an elderly man peacefully sitting down and protesting.

Even the police looked embarrassed to be arresting him.

No, I've already talked about the despicable self-indulgent people taking police support away from Jewish sites in the immediate aftermath of a terrorist attack by supporting a proscribed terrorist organisation who put a police officer in hospital with a sledgehammer.

What about the ones arrested for assaulting police officers?

Perhaps assaulting police officers with or without sledgehammers is ok when it is for Palestine?

Please don't let people put you off discussing your views. Sadly, if we dont agree with the marchers we are called everything from genocide supporting baby killers to bots. They dont appreciate that some people hold different views andxwe aren't hived mines.

It is possible to want the marches to moderate their language eg end the war and free hostages rather than supporting a terrorist organisation PA, and calling to globalise the intifada. So its less hate filled and less inclined to show support for violence.

No one should be assaulting the police, or vice versa.

@nomas here's a video of people marching in London threatening Jews with the 'army of Mohammed' referring to a battle where Muslims defeated Jews.

That clip is truly vile, calling for the killing of Jews and beheading. That was in London. Yet people insist its all peaceful. That's why people like me (not a bot) are talking about what the marchers are doing. I'm appalled at that and would hope everyone is appalled at that occurring in London marches. Its disgusting.

People should be arrested for hate speech.

Peaceful protesting should be allowed.
