To be put off further dates? Or am I being OTT

ClaudiaMe · 03/10/2025 17:08

I had a 4th date with a man last night - he took me to a lovely restaurant and we had a brilliant time.

Afterwards, he walked me back to my car and we shared a kiss.

He then lifted his leg and broke wind really performatively and said sorry and that he’d been holding it in for most of the meal.

I feel like that was disrespectful and after a lovely time, am now in no rush to see him again…

Yeah that’s horrific

Jtfrtj · 03/10/2025 17:11

Disgusting pig. Why do so many men act like the class clown nowadays?

If you had done that he’d have thought you were revolting. I can’t stand the arrogance men have when they think they can act this way and still be attractive to us.

OP, how did you react??

CuddlyPug · 03/10/2025 17:14

This is him on his best behaviour. Honestly, if this is what he does after a kiss, I can't imagine what he might do after sex - defecate in the corner? I went out with quite a few less than wondeeful men before I married my wonderful husband. None of those men ever did anything as gross as that! I'd be ending it permanently and swiftly.

HelpMeUnpickThis · 03/10/2025 17:15

I would not see him again.

I would not find him attractive at all after that and it would tell me we dont share the same sense of humour.

floraldreamer · 03/10/2025 17:17

I would definitely not see him again.

Crazycatladywithnocats · 03/10/2025 17:21

What an immature thing to do. That would put me off him too.

yeesh · 03/10/2025 17:21

Grim grim grim. He’s an overgrown toddler.

Edited

I was taken aback and didn’t know what to say.

Just typical though - he’s 44 so old enough to know better!

It’s a no from me. Block and delete. F pig

Silverbirchleaf · 03/10/2025 17:26

That would put me off. He could have gone to the toilet before leaving the restaurant, to let rip, so to speak.

Uricon2 · 03/10/2025 17:27

And this is at the point where most men are trying to be Mr Darcy's more refined brother, if they respect the person they are dating.

No hope, bin.

FaceBothered · 03/10/2025 17:28

There must be a lot of these guys around.

We had an almost identical thread only a couple of weeks ago.

Gross.

CalzoneOnLegs · 03/10/2025 17:28

dump right now OP or you will be in for dinosaur footprints all over your pristine toilet pan, piss on the floor, skidders on your sheets etc.
get a cat, better looking and with better manners ❤️

FeliciaFancybottom · 03/10/2025 17:29

There seems to be a rash of men farting performatively threads lately; are they all trying to trump each other? OP, I think you should blow him off.

Deeprug · 03/10/2025 17:29

Another few minutes and he could have farted all the way home in his car. I wouldn’t see him again.

TeeBee · 03/10/2025 17:30

Ugh, utterly classless. I wouldn't be seeing him again.

didntlikeanyofthesuggestions · 03/10/2025 17:30

Very off-putting. If it didn't smell too bad or sound wet I might give him another chance but only if I really liked him.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 03/10/2025 17:36

What the fuck did you say?

I know some people find farting hilarious but I really don’t. That’s a major turn off.

Househassles · 03/10/2025 17:37

Yes, it would put me off. If he was holding it in for so long, why not another few minutes until you drove away? Or why not excuse himself and go to the loo during dinner or before the two of you went outside? The comment also shows he knows that it's not totally normal and uncontroversial to just "let it rip"; this isn't a cultural or philosophical difference, it's just rudeness. Most people are on their best behaviour during the very early stages of maybe establishing a relationship, so I'd assume this is a sign of things to come. Or possibly he's testing your boundaries. Anyway, it's not a GOOD sign!!

LadyLolaRuben · 03/10/2025 17:38

So we're all agreed that you bin him. Im sure someone will be along in a minute to provide a robust text that will also entertain us during the dreary weather

Ribenafan98 · 03/10/2025 17:38

Its gross and I'd have been like wtf but I wouldnt never see this man again because of a childish fart. You've had 4 dates and you said you had a lovely time. I would speak to him about it instead.

PeloMom · 03/10/2025 17:40

A man once made a shart joke on our second date and I thought that was bad (never saw him again) . But this is another level!

Makes me wonder if the 💩 troll has moved onto farting?
